Surf and Turf Disney Style…..30 days of food on land and at sea! 06/16 WPE

Wow looks and sounds like it was a great dinner! :thumbsup2

We enjoyed it very much - the food was great, Animators has a fun show when the walls come alive and our servers gave us a lot of attention - what else could we have wished for! ;)

Wow Karin, That dinner at Animator's looked great. I remember years ago on a cruise I took the seas were quite rough. (Think barf bags taped along all the walk ways!!) While we ate dinner, the dishes kept moving across the table. The fringe benefit was we were the only ones at a table of 8, so the service was great. Too bad others had to be so sea sick, but like you I enjoyed the personal service.

It was another great meal we had on the DREAM.
And another one while cruising during a Hurricane that we had lots of attention from the servers. :rotfl2:
You know that is something I was really afraid of, being seasick. But thankfully we both turned out to have sea legs. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Day 14, August 26

Royal Palace

Again, we had chosen the Royal Palace for breakfast and once we arrived at the restaurant we were immediately seated towards the back of the restaurant.

Tom again ordered some coffee and I had some

English Breakfast tea. :thumbsup2

They were offering some breakfast pastries and Tom got a

Chocolate Croissant. While he thought this was a very good attempt, we are so used to the real French ones that this one did not quite live up to our high expectation.

Tom had ordered some

IMG_1579.jpg

Swiss Bircher Muesli, Muesli with raisins, shredded apples and yogurt, again. He really enjoyed it very much.

There was something on the menu I wanted to try, ever since I had read about it on Tammie's trip report!

The

IMG_1576.jpg

Mornin' Tug Boat, a fresh blend of strawberries, bananas, almonds, raisin granola and low-fat yogurt. Oh my, that was SO good. Fresh and cool and creamy, instant love!

Tom's hot course was the

IMG_1581.jpg

The Big Breakfast, a large filled omelet on savory toast with grilled tomatoes, bacon and baked beans topped with caramelized onions again. He had enjoyed it a few days before and it did not disappoint. Very tasty and filling.

And here we go again ...... my choice :rotfl:

IMG_1580.jpg

the Traditional Eggs Benedict, Toasted English muffin with grilled Canadian bacon, served with poached egg topped with hollandaise sauce, grilled roma tomatoes and link sausages. I had asked for it to be served without the sausage, but they had put one on anyway.
I don't usually eat Eggs Benedict at home, so whenever we're on vacation, they are a MUST! :rotfl2:
How did they taste? :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: Perfectly cooked poached eggs on top of tasty, slightly salty bacon, sitting on toasted English muffin and topped with hollandaise - what can be better? ;)

Once we had finished our breakfast we were ready for another adventure in Nassau! :goodvibes

Next up - Cabanas

I would love a Royal Palace breakfast any day, Jeff. And I would even eat their crummy waffles. :rotfl2:
Hope you have a lazy Sunday today! :goodvibes

I like the barf bags idea the best! LOL:rotfl2:

don't they have hollandaise sauce in Europe? You can make Eggs Benny from time to time...

Now that you remind me of them ....... yes, they were everywhere! :rotfl2: We just never thought about them, as we didn't feel seasick at all. :lmao:
Karin i did not see them , did they only put them out when the sea is rough or are they out norally?? just a curious ??

You got eggs benedict?? :lmao: Shocking! That strawberry thing looks YUMMY!

Yes, I know .... Eggs Benedict, how could I? :rotfl2:
And I have to admit ..... I am so looking forward to the "Mornin' Tugboat" (the strawberry thing :lmao:) as it was super yummy!

There is nothing MORE European than Hollandaise Sauce, but it's a pain to make and has a gazillion calories and I am only eating that kind of food on vacation. But THEN, I am having it as often as I can! :rotfl2:

Karin i did not see them , did they only put them out when the sea is rough or are they out norally?? just a curious ??

No, Jeff, you could not have seen them, as they only have them out when the seas are really rough.
But you didn't miss anything, as they were just your regular white bags. ;)

Day 14, August 26

Cabanas

We got back from Nassau a little later than we had thought we would and didn't want to hold up the Cast Members at Royal Palace so we headed for Cabanas.

My first plate

IMG_1588.jpg

I had a few olives, a few chilled shrimp with quite nice cocktail sauce, some iceberg lettuce with Ranch dressing and a piece of Margherita pizza. Everything tasted nice and was fresh.

Tom's first plate

IMG_1589.jpg

very similar to mine, he just had some other different salads, which he enjoyed very much and some salsa.

His second plate ......

IMG_1590-1.jpg

IMG_1591.jpg

a piece of Margherita pizza, Pennette bolognaise, Roasted beef striploin, served with steak fries, Baked feta stuffed zucchini, Meatloaf and Stuffed Andalucia chicken. His only complain was that it again was just lukewarm when it hit the table, but that seems to be a buffet thing.
Other than that he really enjoyed it! :thumbsup2

Now, here is MY second plate .......

IMG_1592.jpg

...... and yes, I started eating before taking a photo! :rotfl2:
They had a wonderful apple cobbler with vanilla sauce, which was out of this world good! I really love that kind of dessert!
And again, yip, there is more than my allotment of Chocolate Chip Cookies for the day. But I really enjoyed them. :thumbsup2

Next up - Tow Mater Grill

All of that makes me hungry!

I wonder if it has something to do with living in WA state, but apples and dishes made with apples tend to be a sort of comfort food for me. So I bet I would really have enjoyed that cobbler too... enough to start eating it before taking a pic ;)

It was a pretty good lunch - I just wished food would be hotter when it hits the table. ;)
But that cobbler was to die for. I should have skipped the savory items and just stuck to it! :rotfl2:

Day 14, August 26

Tow Mater Grill

After we had spent the afternoon on board, exploring and solving "crimes" (enchanted art) we decided to have another snack before heading to Pink.

We went to Tow Mater Grill and picked up a

IMG_1628.jpg

Cheeseburger. For fast food it was pretty good. Hot, well cooked burger and there is a large condiments bar on which Tom picked up a lot of goodies for his burger. We shared it and enjoyed it.

Our other item was a

IMG_1629.jpg

Hot Dog. Now, I had my first hot dog at Casey's and did not like it at all. When we first cruised on the Wonder, Tom picked up a hot dog and I loved it! :rotfl2:
This one did not disappoint either. Since we only ordered it when we had finished the burger they had closed the condiments bar in the meantime, so we just put some ketchup and mustard on it and it was still good.

Next up - Pink

I love hot dogs, but they are certainly a pretty American thing. I have no idea what they're like at Casey's, though I should keep that in mind when we're there, as Max loves hot dogs. :goodvibes

I had my first brush with a hot dog at Caseys and did not like them at all. Ever since I steered away from them, but the ones on the DREAM (and WONDERFUL Disney WONDER) are super tasty and the bun does not disintegrate - VERY yummy treat! :thumbsup2

Can't wait for my first Nathan's in August when we stay at the Hyatt at the airport! :goodvibes
