Is everyone putting down the paper trimmer and adhesives and decorating/shopping for Christmas?

I have my shopping done, but I don't have my decorations up. DH & I are going to work on that this weekend. I'm hoping to get a little scrapping done today and maybe this weekend (got a couple of new Cricut cartridges I haven't used). I am reading a good book, though, so it's been hard to drag myself away!

Happy scrappin' and happy holidays, everyone!

We just got back from WDW; then DS got sick, followed by DD and finally myself. Mount Washmore is demanding attention, but all I want to do is scrap some of the 2500 photos we took.

I really need to go through them and take out the bad ones and the doubles (triples, quadruples....this new camera is really much better than the old one, but I really wanted a decent pic of Peter Pan Ride's front - so I took six, all of which turned out.)

i have 3/4 of the shopping done, but no decorations yet. hopefully this weekend. i would love to finish up on the shopping, but i think we will focus on the house this weekend. my worst thing is the wrapping!!!! uuugghhh!!! i am ALWAYS last second with that. This year because ds is getting older (he's almost 5) we put all the gifts up in the attic. So dh will have to get them all down for me to wrap and where do I wrap them???? I am so tired after ds goes to bed that i'm not going to start that at that time. What I really need is a few days off from work. One to finish the shopping and one to wrap everything. But even at that, what would I do with ds so I could do those things????? He goes to school M-W-F but only for 2 1/2 hours. Can do much in that amout of time. What I really need is dh to take the day out also and they could go do there thing while I did the rest! There you go! Now I've got it figured out. Only this would never happen!!!! good grief!!!!!

Shopping... what's that? lol. With an infant this year, its a lot harder than I remember ;) I will attempt to get the rest of my list done, but I think I have DH done at least. i know what I want to get our son, but need to start that. My parents are a lot harder.

I have a workshop next weekend (the 9th) so I will eventually get some done while DH takes responcibility for our son. Plus, I get nursing breaks for my fast little fingers to slow for a minute.

I don't know what to get my parents either. I think I might get my mom a coffee urn, we need one for our big parties. My dad I'm always clueless about. I got him some flannel shirts from LLBean last year but they still look good so I'm not sure what to get this year. He works on Model T's for a living so HD cards are out.

Any ideas anyone?!?!?

P.S. congrats on the baby! We had our 4th earlier this year and I know a lot about not getting anything done! It's been 5 years since we've had a baby in the house, it has been a big change.

My in-laws have never asked for anything at all and are really hard to buy anything for. One year we came up with giving them a Gift Certificate to the place they buy their oil from. Its the one gift they LOVE getting, have never returned and its practical

Thanks! Joey is 3 months old. It is a big change... I can't imagine how you do it. I question having another already just because it is so hard. I know that I will anyway! But still.

WEll, last week at the world and this week on the Magic, but at least I"m BUYING and collecting stuff for Scrapbooks. They have a ton of 2006 scrapbooks and the 2 different paper sets left. I've already picked up two of each but tempted to get more, just in case someone else didn't plan ahead and later want's one.

I can't believe it is Dec. 1st already. Time just flies. Usually by Thanksgiving I am done with the Christmas shopping and wrapping but not this year.

This weekend we are going to get the tree. The outside lights were put up last weekend before the cold comes.

I haven't done any scrapbooking for myself, did do a one on one with a customer last Sunday.

Well Model T's are my dad's profession so buying parts is "legit" (sometimes). LOL
If you're ever in SE Conn at the end of October swing by, we have a huge Model T party for all my dad's friends and clients. This year we had around 400 people. Your DH would be in heaven then!!

So the coffee urn would be a good idea then huh? They wouldn't use it much but we wouldn't have to keep borrowing the PTO's. One of the perks of being VP. :rotfl2:

I am ready to do some scrapping! I bought a new Sizzlets font yesterday and I am anxious to put it to work. But first I've got to get my house in some sort of order. Especially since the Christmas tree may be coming in this weekend. (YUCK!) We don't usually put our tree up this early, but we have swim meets and basketball the following two weekends.... so it will be this weekend by default. I did some holiday shopping yesterday and put a good dent in the list, but I am by no means finished. Looks like another crazy, flying by month. But my goal is to FINISH our 2004 WDW trip albums. Not much left to do, but it will feel good to be TOTALLY DONE with that. Then on to Disneyland 2005!..................P

I am combining Xmas with something I love: scrapbooking. I am giving scrapbooks of the kids throughout the year and in DW to the Grandmas and one beloved Aunt.

My dad is less than interested in my kids, so he will get a card and a small something. He is also threatening to boycott Xmas because he is upset over the death of his father-in-law (not my grandpa, not even close) and because my brother told him off (again).

Makes me want to scurry back to DW where most everyone is jolly.

I feel like Scrooge because I am not decorating at all for Christmas. We are going to be at WDW from December 20-30th so I am not decorating at home. We are in Texas and a friend in Lakeland FL went and bought a 3 foot fiber optic tree I saw at our local Lowe's. He is taking it to our resort before we arrive. We have lights and suction cups to put lights around our room window. DH is just sure we will have a balcony at Wilderness Lodge so he added lights for a balcony. I don't know why he feels this way since it is our first trip to this resort. LOL My DD and I used my Whale of a punch Mickey Icon to punch coasters. We then punched Christmas paper and glued it to the coaster pieces. We are using them to decorate our tree in our room.

I have bought some clothes for our trip which will end up as part of our Christmas. I bought myself a Mickey iPod nano case. DH bought a Sony HD video camera for himself for Christmas. He opened it and is driving me nuts playing with it. He claims he just wants to know how to use it to record things at Disney for me. Of course, the video camera caused him to shop for drives and a DVD blue ray recorded so he could take the video off cameras hard drive and burn it on HD DVDs. LOL I got myself a small backack purse for Disney. I bought myself a couple of Disney video games. I bought our DD some clothes, Tink rolling carry on bag, Tink luggage tag, Tink iPod case, an iPod Nano and that is it. The iPod was actually free through DHs hotel reward program. She will get some money to buy things at Disney for herself.

We draw names in my family and I don't know who we have yet. DH and DD made wood cutting boards for his side of the family, friends and ourselves. They used maple, walnut, cherry and oak and they are BEAUTIFUL! I do gift cards for his nieces and nephews since they are all in their early 20s. I have 2 nieces and a nephew to buy on my side.

When I started to write, I thought I had not done much but now I realize whew I am almost done. LOL I won't see them til New Years Eve so there is no rush. LOL

we were at WDW last xmas so we didn't decorate either. I bought a tree and made ornaments and shipped them down for our room. I packed the kids stockings and put them on the table for the boys.
It was nice not to have to worry about dismantling the house when we got back.

My DH has always been a bit un-Christmassy - working in retail based on the High Street does tend to take the fun out of it, with the longer days and Sunday opening, so by the time he got home Christmas Eve (usually after 7.00pm) he just wanted dinner, a glass of wine and then bed. So I had to do Santa etc. This year he is in a new job, delivering groceries, and even though he is working Christmas Eve he knows all his shifts and that he will be home by early afternoon. We've bought a new tree and some new decorations, and he's even looking forward to putting up the tree - we're going to do it tomorrow as its St Nicholas day(when the boys get sweets in their boots for being good - and a stick or two for naughtiness!) and we're both home to watch DS(7) Christmas play at school, so after school we can do that and then he's planned on taking us all out for a special dinner :faint:

All the Christmas shopping is done - not all delivered yet, but ordered. He even wrapped santa presents :faint: :faint: and wrote the cards. What a difference from previous years!

So I've really got no excuse for not scrapping :guilty:
