I noticed that if you book through supershuttle's website that it is suggested that 18% tip be added, but you can fill it in as 0 (so that you can tip the appropriate amount by cash afterwards if you wish to do so.)
http://www.supershuttle.com/

You do prepay for the service for both websites, and I can easily see someone not noticing the 18% tip then tipping more.

On the Execucar Express website, http://www.execucar.com/ it is MANDATORY that you pay 18% tip, there it no way to rid yourself of it, as far as I can see.

I have always tipped around $12 (17%) for a family of 4, and I don't think that's being unfair. The cost to go from LAX to Hojo is $72 plus tip (and vice versa) so for a family of 4 it is a good value, it's a Honda Odyssey. You can only have 5 passengers on those vehicles, but the rate is good, and they've always been on time.

Anyway, just wanted to give you guys the heads up, for those of you who wanted to take Execucar but who DID NOT want to pay the 18% gratuity in advance! (Book through Supershuttle and then select the 'execucar express' service.

When I booked the Excucar Honda Odyssey over the phone, they gave me option of prepaying the 18% tip on my credit card or paying it when I get to LAX. The way I look at it, you have to tip anyway, either taking a taxi, or other transportation services. If my driver is extra helpful, and very pleasant, may inclined to throw a couple of extra dollars their way. It's still cheaper than taking a taxi, and you get to avoid the cattle car experience of taking Disneyland Express, or some of the other shuttle services to get from LAX to DL.

Yes, I know what you mean - if you get a driver who is extremely friendly, courteous, helpful, etc., we also do tip more. I agree, it would be much better than the Disneyland Express, for the simple reason that I get extremely motion sick on big buses. I did feel motion sick once with Execucar Express but I believe it was because it was rush hour and a lot of stop and start motion.

Wish we could do this--it is less than the DL Express plus I'm sure it would be faster. However I really don't want to haul carseats on our flight, so we're out of luck for this.

Yes, totally understandable for families with smaller children who need car seats. Just make sure you are able to use some coupons to get the best possible rate for the Disneyland Express, if you need help finding some, I can help you look some up. :)

Edited to add: Third from the bottom link here at this web link, for the Disneyland Express - save $5 per person on a one way or round trip, obviously making a one way trip each time using the coupons will be better!
