What is it??? The link isn't working for me? Saying Page Not Found.

Ugh the link isn't working because the DIS won't type his last name! Its an interview Dick Van **** did on CNN about Mary Poppins. Type in his last name in the link where the **** are and it will work. Darn DIS!

Oooh thanks! I am going to print this out and read it while I am covering the receptionist desk this afternoon. :goodvibes

I just realized tonight that I wasn't subscribed here anymore.....I've fixed it and read the last 5 pages that I missed.

FYI on flying Southwest: When you take the ME bus back MCO you will have to carry your own bags to the check-in desk. It can be a mob scene (especially on Satursdays). I suggest spending the $5 bucks on a tip and getting a porter to help you. And you can ask at the front desk at the resort to check you in online with Southwest and print your boarding pass.....I do it everytime.

Excellent tips on flying Southwest! Thanks. I'll remember to check us in online. :thumbsup2

Yay, this will be my first time to meet someone from the DIS!:cool1:
:goodvibes It will be fun!

I am looking forward to hearing about your experience with Southwest as that is most likely what we will be flying when we go. We most likely will be using ME too.

Great to know! We're flying Southwest for our trip this weekend- I was wondering about whether the resort would print our boarding passes or not, etc.

I booked my flight today.

I was able to get awesome flight times, on the 22nd I will arrive at MCO at approx. 10:20AM. On departure day, my flight doesn't take off until 7:40PM. Yayayaya! Marc isn't too crazy about how early and then late he will have to drive/pick me up from the airport but too bad for him. :rotfl: The flight went up a little bit in price but I decided to just book it instead of playing the waiting game for the airfare to go down. I'm comfortable with what I paid.

I was poking around here on the DIS and found out that Star Wars Weekend starts the weekend that I arrive. That also happens to be Memorial Day weekend. :crazy2: I've pretty much decided that I will be avoiding DHS that weekend. From what I gather, the event will be May 22nd - 24th. That's Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Bah. That means no DHS until at least Monday. I am hoping that they have EMH's on Monday night, we did that last trip and it was a lot fun plus were able to do most everything that we wanted to do in those few hours. I know being solo I'll be able to get more done and will be able to park hop more easily but I just want some sort of plan. I work better with plans. :upsidedow I am hoping that the hours will be released on Feb. 1st. Will they release hours on a Sunday?? :confused3

I've been mulling over my ADR options and have come to a few conclusions.

1. I don't want the dining plan. I want the flexibility of ordering whatever I want. It's easier to save money towards dining for just one person instead of two.

2. I would like to do a few TS meals. I haven't quite figured out what they will be yet. I have few mulling around. Le Cellier, Brown Derby, Crystal Palace, Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe are just a few that are in the running.

3. I'm considering the afternoon tea at Grand Floridian. I've read some great reviews and think it could be a nice solo activity. Why do I hesitate? I don't like tea. :rotfl2: BUT, my logic is that I can choke a bit down, I know one of the options comes with champagne and I think it would be so much fun to munch on those little sandwiches and pretty desserts.

I'm waiting to make any final decisions until the park hours are out. I also want to get a rough estimate of what I would order and how much each ADR would cost.

I've decided that I am going to make some lists of things that I want to hit up, I think it will keep me on track and keep me from getting overwhelmed. When I don't have a plan that's what happens. I keep having thoughts of being lonely and not having a good time while there solo. I think it will be fine though, I think I need to do this for myself. I've started writing down tips and ideas in my trip planning notebook so I'm going to keep doing that so I have things to focus on. :thumbsup2

So this was a completely random post. Sometimes it's good to just get it all out! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I booked my flight today.

Me TOO! Yay for us :cool1:
I agree with you about playing the waiting game. As soon as the price gets within a range I am vaguely comfortable with, I book it. Sometimes I have seen prices jump up $50 overnight!
I have always wanted to do the Grand Floridian tea too, you should do it so you can tell us about it ;) Maybe you'll like the tea if you pour lots of cream and sugar in it like I do!

Yay! For booking your air, one less thing to worry about and now onto your plans!!:cool1: For some reason, I feel like once my air is booked it makes the trip really happening, maybe I'm just crazy, but I feel it makes it more in stone.::yes::

I agree, being on the meal plan, being solo, doesn't make sense....you can eat on the run, when you want to, if you want to and what you want to and don't have to worry about anyone else. Seems like a great idea to me!! And great idea about doing a couple of TS meals.....I LOVE Le Celliar and Hollywood Brown Derby!! Two of my absolute favs!! So they are my vote!!:thumbsup2 And I laughed out loud about your tea idea.....I say go for it, choke down some tea for the experience!!

Sounds like you've got some great ideas about this trip...I can't wait for you to go!!pixiedust:

Your plans for ADRs sound great! We LOVED Kona last year and can't wait to go back this year. Le Cellier is awesome also.

We will be at WDW May 15-22, so I am actually hoping to go to DHS on our last day, Friday, May 22nd to catch the first of the Star Wars weekends. (DS12 is a HUGE fan, and it would make his trip!)

Hurray for your flight! Wherever did you find Village People smilies???

I think the afternoon tea at the Grand would be so neat! I am planning on doing that with Chelsea in 2010, so you should definitely go and then you can tell me all about it!

I thoroughly enjoyed your "random babblings." Congrats on booking your flight! :cheer2: Village People smilies are too cute!

You have me cracking up at the "don't like tea" part but you know how I feel about champagne. I think that would be a fun afternoon activity!

And yippee for lists!! Those are important! :)

I too enjoy your "randomness" as you call it LOL!!!! I can totally associate with it LOL!!!!

I'm so excited you got the flight you wanted!! YAY!! One less thing to stress about!!

I am very excited to hear about your final ADRs and what you decide to do and what you decide not to do!!!! The afternoon tea sounds absolutely delightful and is something I would LOVE to do...of course I really really love tea and even have my own tea cup for when I get invited to teas (and yes I have been invited to tea parties LOL).

Just concentrate on how much this trip will bring you back rejuvenated and ready to conquer the world. You will probably have more insight on yourself and having that break will even help you to enjoy your marriage even more!!!

Can't wait to see those lists LOL!!

Hey Stranger....

I booked my flight, too! Actually just my departing flight. $59 one way from PHL. :cheer2: I can wait on the return flight since it will be a Monday night! I don't think those will book up too fast!

Your TS sound good.......but I know YOU REALLY want to go to the Cali Grill! Do it! You will not regret it!

Hi! Im Meghan! :wave2: Im from Mass and I was perusing the Pre Trip report board and I saw your report for May 09 which is when Im going, so I read from the beginning and saw your whole report Im so excited to be on board and possibly see you there!

ill be updating my pre trip too we can be pre trip buddies!

OMG LL :faint:

You were right. I can't believe these huge changes!

Before I went, I couldn't understand why so many people wanted to do a solo trip.

Now I do. You'll get to do exactly what you want to do without having to consider anyone else's feelings. :cloud9:

And on the selfish front....I can't WAIT to see all your pictures!!!!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Hey LL, did you book your flight online thru Southwest? If you did, not sure if you saw what happened with mine. I checked back and the price had went down about $150 once I first booked the flight and if you choose the new price, Southwest will reimburse you the difference. So good thing you're flight IS booked, but just re-check it every other week or so and see if the price went down! :thumbsup2

You don't have to get tea... I know they serve little kids chocolate milk if requested, so I'm sure you could get that? Believe me, everything else is so delicious I would go for sure!! You can even just order the desserts a la carte!:cool1:
