So I'm about to make my first ever solo trip to DL! I'm flying in/out of John Wayne airport. As a single female traveler, do you think its safer for me to take Super Shuttle vs Uber? The last time I flew in I took Uber, but I was traveling with someone. I like the convenience of Uber normally and the fact that I know I'm the only stop on the way to my hotel. But I admit I'm a little nervous not having anyone else on the ride with me.

I'm a solo female traveler and have been taking Supershuttle from LAX to Disney every year for the last few years. I prefer taking Supershuttle, even if it is more expensive than UBER as I prefer not to be alone in a car.

Im an international visitor from Europe and I feel safer on public transport than alone in a private car.

I haven't used Super Shuttle since I started using Uber, I personally, have no issues taking an Uber by myself, and I am a pretty small woman in her early 30s.

Super Shuttle and really, any available shuttle from SNA is EASY! The shuttles all wait in the same area and take passengers as they come......and CHEAP.... $11/pp.....
(I'd go with a shuttle)

The one tip I have heard especially for a woman using Uber alone, is to instead of asking the driver when they get there "Are you David?"...ask them, "Who are you here to pick up?". That way you know for sure you are getting in a legitimate Uber vehicle.

Good tip! Thanks!

I am also a woman and travel solo all over the country and take Uber and Lyft everywhere even late night/early mornings. Be alert and trust your gut/surroundings before getting into any car, even super shuttle..

LYFT seems to be doing better in the Orange county area, if uber is your choice I would also download LYFT and compare pickups and prices. For one UBER should work fine, but for more than one, be aware, they seem to be getting smaller and smaller cars, so if you have a lot of luggage it could be an issue

As others have said, while SuperShuttle may be cheaper than Uber/Lyft, I like the convenience of not having to go to any other stops along the way. I used Uber to get to SNA from DLR one morning (around 4:30 am) when I was heading home by myself and it went fine. I was nervous as well, but I did what I could to make sure things went okay (I double checked the license plate number against the one listed in the app, confirmed the driver's name, and tracked the ride to make sure it was on course).

So helpful knowing that the ride can be tracked and that you can check plate number and such. I had avoided it because I had no idea how traceable it would/could be. Going to try on my next trip!

I solo Uber all the time. Never have had an issue. Heck I used it several times on my last trip when I didn't feel like waiting for ART.

I mean, they literally give you the license plate number to verify.

I've taken many solo rides with Uber as a young female...both at home and during DL trips. I've never felt unsafe. The Uber app tells you the licence plate number, model of vehicle, the driver's name and shows you a picture of them. You can also see their rating(out of 5). It is very safe.

I live by Disneyland and broke my right foot. I had to Lyft/Uber to and from work for almost two months. Never had an issue. I am a female and always felt safe. I slightly prefer Lyft over Uber though. I wouldn't hesitate to use either in Southern California.

I will say that I used to use Super Shuttle and always had to deal with being dropped off last (stop #6 of 6) or picked up first #1 of 5 or 6 because of my proximity to the parks. That isn't fun :(

Like others have said, Uber... I have been using Uber solo for years, I like that I can see the driver, know that have to have a good rating to drive, and there is evidence of our trip...
