Trying to decide between super shuttle or Karmel shuttle from Long beach. We're getting in around 8pm on Friday. We've used super shuttle before, but not Karmel. How long will it take to get from LB airport to the BWPPI and how come shuttle service is so much more expensive from LB to BWPPI vs coming from Orange county airport? Last time we paid $45.00 R/T for 2 people(super shuttle) coming from Orange county and now it's roughly around $75-80 R/T:scared: coming from Long Beach. I know gas has gone up, but that just seems a little high to me. Thank you in advance for any info you have to offer! :)

Because LBG is a much smaller airport, the shuttle prices are higher due to fewer riders, I think, even though the actual distance is roughly the same.

It's actually cheaper to take a taxi from LGB to DLR.

For future reference, you can use coupon code UYR59 to get a cheap rate on Super Shuttle. It makes the cost $14 pp RT between SNA and DLR area.

If you go to their website, click on "fare quote" on the right. Then put in roundtrip, from/to airport, and Orange County in the spaces. Be sure to put hotel for 'address type.' Put in the discount code uyr59. Now, here is the trick: do this for each member of your party separately. You will still ride together etc but this is how you get the full discount per person rather than per party. The above code gives you a discount of $6 roundtrip. You will get to a page that tells you that cost of a shared van is $10 each way, but the discount isn't deducted until you're almost through with the process and you will eventually see it listed as a final RT price of $14.

I like to pay the suggested tip (18%) online so I don't have to worry about having the right amount of cash when I'm there.

Thank you guys! I still got $78.00 R/T from Long Beach even with code. Am I doing it wrong or is this what I will have to end up paying because as a previous posted mentioned, it cost more because it's a smaller airport.

No, you didn't do anything wrong! It's just that there isn't a coupon code (that I know of) for LGB and the shuttles are a lot more expensive. Take a taxi! It's easier and a lot cheaper. I'm sorry I forgot to say the above code was only for SNA. That's why I started off with "for future reference" but then I forgot the part about it not working at LGB.

My son and I are coming in on the 20th for 4 days and I ended up going to priceline and getting a car for $22 a day. The shuttle price is just awful.

Not sure how I'm going to get my family of 10 from the airport in December??

My recommendation is hire a towncar, or maybe 2 for 10 people. We've used the company Limozitos before and had a good experience. They weren't fancy, although they might have been if we'd needed fancy. They were on time, friendly, clean and a good price. Check out the site Limos.com where you can get a bunch of quotes from different companies and compare them to the shuttle rates. If you're coming in at an odd time or have enough people, it might be worth it to go that route.
