My DH works out of our home, doing IT stuff for a small company. His boss (the owner of the company) hired him as part-time, knowing that he's still going to school to complete his IT bachelor's degree, and that after he graduates (this May) he would talk about full time. He makes decent money for part time, almost the same amount I make at my full time job, and he's paid on the first of each month.

Today, I looked at our bank account, and I see that his check is already deposited as of today. It would make sense if the first fell on a weekend, but this isn't even Friday! :confused3 His boss called him earlier this week and asked DH to meet him at his home on Friday. In our current shaky financial situation, I am petrified that this is going to end in a termination. We would be so up a creek if that happened; my stomach is in knots and I know I won't be able to rest easy until after the meeting tomorrow. :scared:

I'm not looking for advice, merely venting here. Thanks for letting me, and any good wishes would not be turned down!

 Best of luck. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I'm hoping that is not the case! Sending positive thoughts your way.

Does your husband have a gut instinct? Maybe it will be something positive.:goodvibes

His boss is one of those people who, when something doesn't go as he expects it should, he BLOWS UP... and then after he's calmed down he is much more reasonable and rational. The thing he's seemed to have forgotten is that he's hired someone who's still learning how to do this stuff; the issue that's haunting my DH is that while boss was in Saudi Arabia, DH created some "queries", tested them, then sent them. Apparently they didn't work for boss, and boss fired an email right back to DH accusing him of not bothering to test. DH was pretty upset about that; he waited 'til the next day, tho, to cool off a little before responding. He let me read his response, and it was nothing short of poetic. A beautiful email. So, yeah, that's the only thing that comes to mind.

I'm hoping the meeting goes just fine, and we can laugh at our stupidity and paranoia afterwards. Hmm, maybe he's going to pass along his W2 form, too (the only one we're missing) so we can finish that!

Thanks so much for the well-wishes; I can't tell you how much I appreciate it! :lovestruc

Hang in there! My fingers are crossed that the meeting ends with GOOD news!
I know how you feel right now, though!

Hang in there - Hoping everything goes well!! ((HUGS))

Hang in there, hopefully it's all good. BTW, my check will be in my bank tonight, but my payday isn't technically until Sunday so it might not be anything bad to have him paid now. :)

Oddly enough, they just announced for us to pick up our checks this afternoon (not due until tomorrow afternoon). I have no idea why.

Huh! This actually makes me feel quite a bit better... :)

Wow, Darsa, your tag does describe you well!!!;)

It may mean nothing. Think GOOD thoughts and believe them. Everything will be alright.

:thumbsup2

I received an end of the month auto deposit today also. It just happens that way sometimes. Don't worry:flower3:

Usually, if a company does direct deposit, they do it in a batch transfer. If someone is termed, they usually just cut a check and physically hand it over to the employee. Does your DH have any vacay time? That would be included in a final check.

Good luck today! Hoping for the best for you guys.

Whew!!

Just got a text from him: "Meeting went well, heading home now! :)"

Apparently it went very well, he never uses smilies! :thumbsup2

Thanks SOOO much for carrying me thru; I thought the suspense would kill me 'til I heard from him today!! :flower3: :grouphug:

Guess your tag does fit you well! :goodvibes I'm so glad to hear the meeting went well. I know I would have been worried about the meeting as well. I worry when there is nothing to worry about.

Thats good news! Please update what it is! I am hoping a raise!!!!

Could it have something to do with the W-2's for income taxes having to be ready by mpnth's end????
