Super Goofs Team 4 Miles Challenge

Its 11 Am and I have my workouts done for the day- yeah me!
Rode for 1.5 hours then 4 miles on the dreadmill in 45 minutes.
Good way to start the week!
Have fun everyone- Joanne

Lisa: I hope you are doing better. I bet those ribs hurt!!!! Take it easy!

I got 1 hour of strength training in yesterday in addition to my treadmill time.

Totals: 2 hours
Miles: 4

Thanks!

Beth

Kristi, in answer to your question it is miles and time if you do something like bike, run, etcetera. Just time if you do aerobics or something that you cannot track miles for. I hope that clears it up for you.

Hi Lisa, way to go keeping the Goof offs in line. They do realize they don't have a cow tipping chance right?

How are your ribs today? I think Tony Roma's sounds good for supper, wish we had one here.

Hungry Panda:hippie:

This morning I was able to get some strength training in. I wish I had time to run outside, it is so warm outside. 57 degress feels warm now, in the summer it won't.

30 min strength training ºoº

I got myself to the gym tonight. I did 45 minutes stretch class, 1/2 hour elliptical for 3 miles, and 15 minutes on the recumbent bike for 5 miles

Time: 90 minutes
Miles: 8

Beth

Great job over the weekend everyone. I wish I could say the same for myself. Kristi, nice 6 miles. WTG.

Sneaky Panda: Thanks for stopping by and reinforcing my feelings that I am not holding up my end on the team. Your discouragement did not go unappreciated. Apparently, I was not feeling bad enough as it was. So, thanks again for stopping by.

I am done with sitting and determined to get back on with my training. Only 2 months to Great Bay and I am feeling not ready again...just like January...so I am calling the chiropractor today and hopefully getting back at it. I promise more miles next week. This is not an apology, just a promise that I will do my part better!!! :flower3:

Why does it smell like turtle over here? My mistake that's slug.

Good morning goofy ones. I see you had a fair (politicly correct for lame) week. Don't feel to badly we can't all be on Hakuna Matata. Seriously you guys did good. We are just waiting till you get over confident then we are going to stomp all over you.

Hellooooooooooooooooooooo my other other second favorite team! If you guys are suffering from cabin fever, I suggest you all take a nice long vacation on the beach, just laying around and working on your tans! We will miss you, but you ARE WORTH it! :beach:

If this is the way this "game" is going to be, I am afraid I will have to drop out.
This is NOT what the WISH team is about.
At least it isn't to me. :confused3

No, I am not one of the original members, but I have been here over 2 years now.
I have never seen anything like this!
This used to be the most loving, encouraging group of people.
It didn't matter if you ran a 6 min. mile, or could barely beat those sweepers.
Everyone was a cheerleader for everyone.

I am the type that will use any excuse not to exercise.
I need all the help I can get.
I DO NOT need to be called a slug when I am doing the best I can right now.

The people that are in this group are fabulous.
What I take offense to, are the, umm, 'guests' that invade our thread to spread all this negativity.

And obviously, I am not the only one feeling this way. :sad2:

Kristi, well said and I am glad that you got it off your chest. I think some good natured ribbing is okay here and there. Most stuff I don't take offense to but I did not get hurt on purpose, trust me, I hate pain and I feel really bad that I did not get my miles and time in, both for myself and for the team. I went into the half in January really underprepared and I don't ever want to do that again. I know you feel the same way.

BTW, Kristi, there is nothing to be ashamed of with your 6 miles this weekend. You did it and that is what matters. I still think you rock!!!!

Kristi-
You did great. I know how how hard it is to juggle family, work, and finding time to do the things you enjoy.
Super Goofs support you 100%. Don't let an angry panda upset you.

The stupid panda will shut up. I was just trying to be funny. I'm sorry. I have the upmost respect and love for everyone on here and never intended for one second to for anyone to take me seriously. I'm a stupid goof and very sorry.

Dave

Hey goofs- 6 miles in just over an hour- kristi that's great! I know i'm not meant to encourage you guys but i can't help it, you guys really aren't goofing around in this competition are you!!!! I think little panda's trying to encourage you with some provoking- he called us slugs too ;)
We want happy healthy competition so healing comes first and we all WISH you well (hopefully less miles than walt's warriers tho :upsidedow)

Again, I want to say that I am proud of the numbers that everyone here is putting up. A little ribbing here and there doesn't have to get us down. We are here to work together and support each other, and that's is what we have to work on.

A little kidding here or there can just be ignored if you don't participate in the 'trash' talk. If someone posts something I don't like, I just move on and read the next post.

I don't think any of it is meant to cause harm. But, I also agree if it is getting to you, that dropping out is not any kind of failure. I think this is a learning experience for us all. I for one am working at getting more fitness all around, which is only helping me.

I am sorry for any hurt feelings.......but I think it can make us stronger!

Beth

Kristi 6 miles is so awesome. I can only dream/worry about doing 6 miles. And it really helps to hear it from all you guys, because every time I hear people doing those kind of miles I really believe I can make it, too. Hang in there, I think you're doing great (and after all--only your teammates opinions really matter, right?:) )

Lisa Here's hoping you feel better soon. Let those of us who are currently injury-free (said while knocking on my big wooden desk here at work) put up the miles/numbers. WE ARE A TEAM!

Anyway, I did 3 miles in 29 minutes today on the TM. I actually felt good running and cranked up the speed a touch--then when I was done I realized I had not set the incline to my usual 1%! Oh well, next time.

Maura

Maura, great job and don't worry, with the pace that you set and the rate that you are progressing, you will be racking up big miles soon too. Some of us are in training for an upcoming half/full so that is why we are up there in miles (or most of us  ). If there was no race coming up, I would be in the 3-4 mile range.

I have to say there is a tee on the CafePress site that says "you wouldn't like me if I didn't run" and that sums things up for me in a nutshell. :rolleyes1 Hence, I am a little cranky right now because I am sedentary. Sitting makes Lisa not a happy camper. I appreciate the support and encouragement this team provides. I am glad we are not about trash but the bigger picture. When I am back to normal I will take the criticism/trashing better. I promise....:upsidedow

The dumb panda will eat a worm and die. I'm sorry you are feeling puny Lisa really I am, I was hoping I could cheer you up with some picking at you. I'm so sorry.

Dave:guilty:

After I get adjusted, my sense of humor will be back Dave. I still love you, don't worry. I dislike pain, dislike lack of motion and tend to eat more when I feel this way which makes me just that much happier. I also dislike not being in control and when I am hurt, it is out of my hands until I am better. I will be back with a vengance soon and you will be sooooooo sorry silly Panda.......:scared1:

Single Mom + Stupid school holidays + shopping = Cranky Cecilia

Hi all,

Dh is out of the country this week so I am solo with the kids. Its day 2 and I am already nuts. Thankfully, my mom is coming tomorrow (Yes,yet another weekend with house guests.) so I will have some back up with the kids.

I am off to run so I will post miles later, but I just wanted to say hi and give everyone a cyberhug. :grouphug: I don't like most of the taunting going on especially when its personal. Its the worst part of winter and its HARD both mentally and physically to get the exercise in.

I think we are all doing GREAT. We are only a couple weeks into the challenge. We just need to bide our time because we have a secret. Come summer, most of the teams will have several southerners that can't run in high heat. I am determined not to be one of them. This is when you guys will really have to pep me up, because I will be having to get up at 4 am to run.

Cecilia
