Boy am I dragging the team down! The weather has been terrible for running! I did get a 1.5 hour ride in today.
Can't wait for daylight savings- I can run in the morning before the wee ones head off to school. Bear with me guys!
Joanne

NO YOU ARE NOT!

You are doing great...just keep on moving!!!!

Lisa, thanks for posting the standings. I left out one of Steve's exercise days:

1 hour, 4.25 miles. I can't remember what night it was (I forgot to write it down) but it 3 or 4 days ago.

For today:

Steve (nukeman): 1 hour strength training
Me: 1 hour/1.5 miles. Strenth training + elliptical

Sorry, I haven't been doing much lately. I have a huge project due at work on Monday and I just have been swamped trying to get it ready. I'm going to try to do 7 miles Sunday. Will post when done. My training should pick up after next week as I have a half in April to prepare for. I also have a marathon relay in 2 weeks. Yikes! I'm so not ready.

Also, I can't wait until we get warmer weather. Bike season! I can really rack up the miles then. ;)

Joanne: No one is dragging this team down. If you look at a lot of the other teams, they started out strong and this week is less. It was just the first week excitement. I have been sick and did not get the amount of time or miles that I wanted either. Today starts a new week and a new opportunity.

Everyone has done so well so far, whether you feel so or not. We are out and moving and that is what counts this game is a bonus. Remember to keep your eye on the prize...your health in 2008!!!!

Okay, everyone is posted to the spreadsheet now. Last week our totals were 59:02/227.40 miles. This week, our totals are 45:52/136.80 miles. I have not got totals from Stacey (Westcliffemom) as she is on vacation until 2/20. I have also not heard from KiMickey or SAP1227 (Christy) and her DH Steve. So, take heart, our totals may (or may not) go up. Please feel free to check the spreadsheet and make sure your totals are correct. If you did not correct my previous post, that is what was entered.

From the first week, we would be 7th in the standings out of 8 teams. Please bear in mind that we are not blessed with a triathlete on our team though we do have people who consistently post big numbers. I have faith that as the weather warms (being that we are a snowy group except for 5 out of 8 members) that numbers will rise. It is not outside or race season for me unless I am skiing and we have soooooo much snow our groomer has been plowing not grooming trails. :guilty: This too shall pass.

I am off to swim lessons and who knows what. Have a good weekend all!!! :dance3:

Lisa, Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday.....LTO!!! But I got outside for the first time in a long time and felt really good!

Time: 1:15
Miles: 6.5

Yeah!!!!

Beth

Alrighty I am gonna start this week out with some bigger numbers:

10 miles in 1:38
Thats a 9:47 pace on those mean nasty hills! I think I am ready for my next race in two weeks!

I think I am one of the people that is supposed to be posting big numbers for us and I have been slacking a bit. ok, alot. I figure as long as this challenge gets us all pushing just a little bit more, then we are all winners.

Cecilia

Cecilia- Way to go! I can't even imagine running right now if it involved hills. I'm still way early on the learning curve, and for once since coming to Michigan 23 years ago, I am happy it's flat here!
Beth- Happy Birthday!!

I'm happy to report that I finished my first-ever 4 mile run in 39 minutes. Now back to lunch and dog training (will he ever learn?)

Maura

Good morning goofy ones. I see you had a fair (politicly correct for lame) week. Don't feel to badly we can't all be on Hakuna Matata.

Seriously you guys did good. We are just waiting till you get over confident then we are going to stomp all over you.

Peace Panda:hippie:

Thanks for the birthday wishes!!! It's been a pretty good day! I even got outside for a run today.....yeah!

Time: 50 min
Miles: 4.5 miles

I will try to get some weight training in tomorrow!

Beth

Here are some more numbers for the week ending 2/15 ºoº

5.2 miles 49:11 - running
6.5 miles 18:00 - bike
-----------------
11.5 miles 1:07:11

I will update the spreadsheet later today. Good for everyone who got more miles in!!

I shoveled for an hour yesterday. We have 6 foot windows along the front of my house and I could not see out for all the snow that had fallen so DH brought the loader over and I chipped away at the frozen crap and shoveled it into the bucket for disposal. What an ordeal and yes, my shoulders are killing me today.

Today, we have to break out the ski trails but that means driving not skiing so I can't count those miles...unless I get stuck...which usually happens and have to dig myself out LOL. DH wants to take kiddos to breakfast about 3.5 miles away so I am running for my food this morning in the below zero wind chill but, at least the sun is out!!!:cold:

Have a great day all!!!

Four miles in 45 minutes on the dreadmill (thinking of Lily while doing so)
Keeping my fingers crossed for a brief bit of no rain for tomorrow- temps are predicted to be in the 50s!

Have fun today!

I got a PM from KiMickey and she is still with us. Yay!!! I have offered the option of emailing me instead of posting on the DIS and if this works better for anyone else PM me and I will give you my email address.

I got stuck yesterday, only once but it was a good one. I had to trudge through the knee to thigh deep snow to find my father in law to pull me out with the big drag machine. In the process, I have popped out 3 ribs and today my workout is iffy. I am going to walk at the very least but walking on the TM is way worse for me than running on it. I feel a little better today after some mobeing by my SIL but still not 100%. On the up side, the trails are all dragged and after all this rain packs and freezes, will be skiable tomorrow.

Day off today with the kiddos then back to the mills tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day and gets their workouts in!!!

Lisa,
I did 1 hour XT yesterday (Aqua Aerobics--and it was a good challennge/change of pace) and did 50 minutes of stretch & strenghten today. Does it make any difference if we post often or would it be easier to just post weekly?
Hope your ribs "pop back" (What does that mean anyway!)

Maura

I got in 30 mins. of yoga at home on DVD yesterday. The plan is 6 miles on the indoor track this afternoon. I will report back once I have done the 6 miles.

Which leads me to a question - do we just count miles for mileage, or does the time count as well? I thought it was just miles. Chad thinks it's the miles and the time. :confused3
