My wife and I ran a small race this morning hosted by our local running club. It rained a little on the way but stopped shortly before we got there. It was actually around 60 degrees and muggy and windy out.
My 5.1-mile race started in a beautiful park for the first 1.5 miles. The remainder was through the nearby residential streets. I was running a near 9:00 pace when I hit a brutal hill. It varied between a 14% and 22% grade and lasted 1.3 miles (I love my Garmin!) I jogged for about half a mile but had to walk the rest until it leveled out. I ended up finishing with a 9:42 pace which was a little disappointing considering how well I ran most of it.
I just posted my time and mileage and doubled them for the race. Two weeks until my next race!
