My wife and I ran a small race this morning hosted by our local running club. It rained a little on the way but stopped shortly before we got there. It was actually around 60 degrees and muggy and windy out.
My 5.1-mile race started in a beautiful park for the first 1.5 miles. The remainder was through the nearby residential streets. I was running a near 9:00 pace when I hit a brutal hill. It varied between a 14% and 22% grade and lasted 1.3 miles (I love my Garmin!) I jogged for about half a mile but had to walk the rest until it leveled out. I ended up finishing with a 9:42 pace which was a little disappointing considering how well I ran most of it.
I just posted my time and mileage and doubled them for the race. Two weeks until my next race!

for the horse. I can't imagine how that feels. And as for what would I do? I would keep quiet and take the shifts as they come available. If she is THAT incompetent, she is going to be relieved when she loses the job. Maybe not at first, but eventually she will realize she was in over her head.

It's my one-year anniversary of the ice skating fall that left me with a broken left wrist and sprained right elbow, so it felt good to escape the rink with no injuries this weekend.
I use a fuel belt now, but the one with four 8 ounce bottles that rest on the hips. Comfortwise, I like it much better and I'm carrying more fluid (which matters for a big fella)!
