Super Goofs bringing it home for the holidays challenge thread

Merry Christmas, Goofs! So, who else got running gear for the holidays? My kids gave me a Fuel Belt and some clothes and DH gave me a Garmin. I can't wait to try it out tomorrow morning!

I did get out yesterday, but my legs were tired from all the theme park walking.
2.53 miles
32 minutes

Friday...30 mins bike/6.15 miles

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and not too much trouble with all the crazy weather out there!!

Hello Super Goofs!! I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas! We had a great one, and I got lots of great stuff! My fiance got us a new HDTV, which I am so excited about. My tv was so old and small, so this was very exciting! I also got lots of great running clothes...my family knows me all too well!

As for training, I went to the gym last night for a short 4 miler on the TM. Funny thing is that it just didn't seem enough...taper madness is setting in! I can't believe that in two short weeks, I will be done with the half marathon and only have the marathon to go! :scared1:

Here are Friday's numbers:

4 miles/46:00 plus 15 min stretching

I was planning on doing my 12 mile run today, but the forecast for tomorrow is much better and it is supposed to be 62 degrees!!! Today it is rainy and cold....I figured I would wait until tomorrow and get a run in closer to race conditions! I never thought I would be saying that this close to the race. I hope to be able to wear my race gear to make sure everything is good to go!

Ok, Goofs....gotta go....keep up the good work! For those of you running in two weeks..can't wait to see you!!!!

Thanks to my new Garmin, I can post my LR with satellite precision!
7.02 miles
1:42:02, including 3 breaks. I have to learn how to pause the timer.

Well, back in Michigan after another marathon drive. Finally got outside today in the fog, rain and warm (supposed to be 61 here today!) and did 5 miles. It was a "shake the rust off" run. Probably about 50 minutes--including the time to dodge ice, wipe off my glasses so I could see and try to avoid at least the deep puddles. I was soaked when I got home, but at least I got some miles in.

Good morning Goofs. I know you all missed me over my little Christmas breaK!! Okay, well at least tell me that you did anyway....:lmao:

Susie, of course you can post miles for November. If you can do it in one lump it would be great. Same for December. Sorry to hear about your knee. Tell Steve that I am doing my first full next year also....CMM in April!!!!!! How exciting. We are staying at the Millenium Maxwell House. There are quite a few of us doing the half or full. YAY!!

It sounds like everyone had a great Christmas and you have all done very well with your training over the holidays too. I have a plan worked out in my head to start after the first of the year to get me back on track for CMM. I have gained 2 more pounds... so I need to get back at it!!

Sorry for the abbreviated post but I have TONS of work to get caught up on. They save the good stuff for me (I am sooooo lucky) so I better get to it!

Have a great day Goofs!!!

Just a quick update- I did other stuff but I'll have to figure out whats missing.

Friday
3 miles on the elipitical (1/2 hour)
1/2 hour with personal torturer

Saturday
1 hour spin
1 hour body flow
1 hour body pump

Sunday
1 hour spin
1 hour fitness yoga

Quick update from my world....

Went out for 12 miles this morning, in perfect temperatures for me! It was about 57 degrees when I started and about 60 when I finished. As it looks now from the extended forecast, that is looking pretty close to the weather forecasted for WDW in two weeks...let's hope it stays that way!!!!

12 miles/2:19 plus 10 min stretching

I will try to check in later on to see how everyone is doing!

5 mile run

4 mile run

5 mile hike

5 mile run

60 minute spin class.

1 injured knee....:headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:

Finishing up December in a big way:

Wednesday: 4 miles in 38:39
Friday: 4 miles in 36:12
Sunday: 20 miles in 3:47:02

I will post something chatty and uplifting tomorrow when I am not dripping wet from a 20 mile run in the rain. (I just don't have the energy to get up the stairs yet.)

Good morning Goofs. I hope everyone survived Christmas and are looking forward to the new year. I know I am!!

Only 3 more days (including today) for this challenge. I will update the spreadsheet by Friday the 2nd so be sure and get all your miles and minutes in by then. If you have anything to report for last week, let me know by the end of the day today as I will do the sheet tomorrow.

As for me, not much in the exercise department to report. I spent Saturday finally cleaning out the closet in my office. Scary the things you find!! I did ski a little with the kids so not many miles but lots of minutes!! I have reworked my plan to get me back on track by February so I can start upping my long run miles in preparation for CMM in April. I need to get moving as I am now up 7 pounds from my pre-holiday weight. Starting to feel yucky again in many ways. Hopefully they clear my road soon (no one start holding your breath, K) so I can run from home. I do have a few places I can drive to and park to get a run in outside on the days that it is good out. Hopefully life will be different in 2009. :goodvibes

I hope everyone is doing well and have fun times planned for Wednesday night. Thursday starts a new year of health for all of us!!!!

1300 yards in 45 minutes of swimming.

Ironman training starts next week...going to miss the Goofs support!

Going to take my bike and me to the LBS to get it fitted as best as possible for aero position, rather than road positioning.

Merry belated Christmas and early Happy New Year Goofs!!!!

Mike

Did 5 miles on the TM (45 minutes) and another 45 minutes of weights and stretching. Since I'm off work this week, I have the luxury of time--so nice. Too bad it can't be every day (well, I probably would get bored)

Bonjour from Paris!

Can you believe this? I'm DISing while in Paris. Unfortunately, as crazy and wild as work has been, this is about the only time I have to do it. Ha!

Went to Disneyland Paris today. Lisa, I think I did a 10-miler or more today. Geez! I think I walked around the main park 10 times or more. I also used some of my karate skills on moving people out of the way. It was wall to wall people. I've never seen DisneyWorld this crowded. I only got to ride two rides - Tower of Terror and Haunted Mansion. Both are a little different than WDW's. I wanted to ride space mountain but it was a 3 hour wait. Yikes. Plus, the temperature was 34 degrees today and windy. I can't wait in long lines under those conditions. All in all, DLP is really a neat place, just not today. Luckily, I've been here before so I didn't feel robbed. Sorry for the rambling. I'm just happy to be here. :goodvibes

Sounds like everyone's training is going well if I'm reading correctly. Way to go, Goofs! Can't wait to see those of you going to WDW next week. For those that aren't going to go, we will miss you guys!!!!!

Guess I better go. Internet is getting whacky here.

I'll try to check back soon.

Au Revoir!

Hey Goofs!

I can not believe the year is up! Thank you for putting up with me all during a pretty rocky year. things didn't go the way I planned but I think everything is going to go all right in the end.

Mike - Stay in touch! I want to hear all about your ironman training!

Lisa - Dh and I are making plans for CMM. I think I will try to book at the Millenium Maxwell House again. It wasn't fancy but it was nicer than the one by the stadium. I will let you know when we make plans. (I know - I gotta do it soon)

Joanne - I want to hear how your recovery goes and how next years MCM goes too.

I think I get to meet the rest of you NEXT friday!! Be sure to find me at the POP meet and if not there, then both mornings I will be looking for the big group of people in lime green. Come find me, PLEASE. Its a long wait on those mornings and its nice to have someone to talk to.

Cecilia
