Super Goofs bringing it home for the holidays challenge thread

We're ok, didnt get hit as hard as some towns, only without power for about 14 hours...thanks for thinking of me! Is Joanne back on?

2.5 miles/38 mins

the treadmill is a lot easier now that I'm not trying to run on 100% incline!

Morning Goofs. Not much to report here. I did get my DH to do some yoga last night. Funny thing he feels better this morning bending down to put his socks on. Go figure.

I am making a concerted effort to get back to running. My life is taking over and I am feeling very out of sorts. At least running made me feel less chaotic even if isn't really... Today is in the 40s and tomorrow is snow, staff Christmas party and just a generally blown day for me. Running after work today and before the party tomorrow. I need to get back into the swing of things and stop making excuses about everything coming first. Running used to be first and it should be....right....

Hoping that Joanne and Angie are not powerless and that is why we have not heard from them. A week is a long time without power, I remember it well. :scared: I hope to hear from you both soon. :flower3:

Everyone else, take care and keep those miles coming. With me slacking off its a good thing we have some Goofy in training people on the team!!!

Have a good day everyone!

Short workouts for me so far this week. Yesterday it was 40 minutes and 2.25 miles of walking and today I did 30 minutes of weights and stepper (1.5 miles).
Lots of shopping and catching up on bills, etc to do this week. It sure does take a lot of time!

Maura

will keep me out of the pool for 8 days

Stupid slip with a butcher knife....

Anyway, I got in 30 minutes on my bike trainer...had 90 all carved out of my day, but the inner tube blew...then I lost motivation.

I'll be out for a week driving to Austin with the family, but I'll log and post my workouts.

Merry Christmas Goofs!!!!

Mike Massive doses of pixiedust: coming your way (although technically, didn;t pixie dust just make you fly?) Hope you heal quickly and have a safe trip.

Beth Extra points (in my book anyway) for keeping it up over vacation. I tend to just let the vacation vibe take over and "vacate" from formal exercise as well. (Although at least at WDW you get the walking mile in!)

Angie Glad you didn't get hit too bad. Now NO MORE UGLY WEATHER until at least December 21. Why? Because I am drving from Michigan to Massachusetts on December 20!

So, Disney-bound Goofs....are we excited yet? We must get a Goof picture at the Pop meet. At Minnie, it was me and Suzanne--I think that was it!

Maura

Hi Goofs

A brutal 8 miler for me this morning. It seems I am now fighting a stomach bug. WILL IT EVER END? Anyway 1:23 total even with the walk breaks so it couldn't be as bad as I thought.

Cecilia

Hi All-
I am sending this from my sister's house and her computer. We lost power last Thursday night and we are still without it. We have no idea when it will return and it could be several more days. Our house runs everything with electricity- heat, water, ..everything. I am quite depressed- I just want to go home. There is a possibility that the kids will not be going back to school until January 5!

Everyone- please cross your fingers and toes that the power comes back soon.
Joanne

Wednesday...45 mins bike/8.46 miles

Sick again, tired of being sick and tired. The doctor put me on steroids this time to try and kick it out of my system. I am very upset that the scale is moving in the wrong direction. :sad2:

Good morning my Sweet Little Goofs!!! :santa: Only one week left for you last minute shoppers!!

Joanne, hang in. We were without power in 1997 for a week and I thought it was tragic. We could still live at home though with wood heat, oil lamps and candles. I hope they get your power on soon and you get back home before the big day!!

Beth, definitely extra bonus points for getting it done on vacay!! You rock!!!

All of you fighting illnesses and butcher knife incidents....pixiedust: pixiedust: And yes Maura, pixie dust does only make you fly but there are days I would like to fly while I run!!!! :goodvibes

My day yesterday was a productive unproductive day. It snowed all day and we ended up with about 6 inches total. I wrapped gifts, packed boxes, scheduled UPS pickup and all that holiday stuff. I cleaned the house as my cleaning lady is sick again and when all was done I did 3 miles on the Leslie Sansone walk DVD. This is the 5 miler that I wrote about earlier and you have the option of 1, 2, 3, 4 or the full 5 miles. There is even a walk boost part where you jog a little. It was a good workout and a great alternative to snow plodding or the treadmill. I think it will give me an alternative to the same old same old. I ran 3.2 miles on Tuesday and kept a 10:15 pace so all is good in my running world here. My DD turns 14 on Monday so sad/happy day before Christmas. She was going to have to go to school on her birthday for the first time ever this year (vacay usually starts that day) but we are due for a Noreaster on Sunday evening into Monday. Can you say lucky girl......

Morning people. Did 5 miles (44 minutes) yesterday indoors, per usual and felt good except for a sore hamstring. Today did 40 minutes of stepper and weights (1.25 miles on stepper).

Have a 10-miler on tap this weekend and will probably do indoors tomorrow since A) we are having a snowstorm tonight/tomorrow (6-10") and B? I'm driving east on Saturday. Just hope I can dodge the snowflakes!

Hope everyone who's ailing gets better before Christmas!

Maura

Hi goofs!

Yesterday: 4.5 miles in 48:38
Today: 8.0 miles in 1:20:02

I just looked at the corrals for the marathon and once again I start reight behind the elites. I hate it when that happens cause it makes everyone araound me start out too fast and I go right along with them. Must start slowly - must start slowly - must start slowly......

Off to shower before I do some last minute panic Christmas shopping!

Cecilia

Good Friday morning Super Goofs. It is last chance workout day. Only 2 more to go for the whole challenge. The next reporting day is 12/26 and then the challenge is done on 12/31. I will be doing the last update probably on New Years Day if everyone could get their numbers in. It seemed like a long time when we started but it feels like just yesterday that we joined along this journey together.

Angie, the poem was beyond awesome. You did a great job with it and, we are glad you are still here!!!

Joanne, Still sending :wizard: that you and your family are home before Christmas day.

Cecilia, right behind the elites??? :scared1: You do so totally rock!!

Mike, hows the finger?

Suzanne, it has to be Friday because I need a new line for all your numbers!!! Great work! :flower3:

Beth, so how was the vacay, relaxing, wonderful, full of excitement???? :beach: :listen:

Laurie, where'd ya go??? I am hoping it is the holidays...:santa:

Maura, did you all get any of that snowy snow snow??? I think Mass is due for a storm tonight and again on Sunday. Hope you dodge the flakes (snow and driving) well!!

Kim, great job with your runs. Are you feeling ready yet??

Megan, work overload again????? :surfweb: I hope you are out enjoying yourself.

I think that is everyone. If I left someone out, it is not because I don't love you, I am just a little disorganized this holiday season. As if you all didn't notice....:scared:

Today I get to ski after work!! I am ever so excited!! My FIL dragged the trails yesterday and they should have frozen last night so it should be pristine skiing today! :woohoo: Hopefully, with the trails done and more snow on the way, my miles should ramp back up, you know, just in time for the challenge to be over...:rolleyes1 I have lost the weight that I gained during my little blue period and am back to normal. I got a new hair color last night (mocha) which will be finished off the day after Christmas with red and blonde highlights. Oh, and I am only working on Monday and Tuesday so I will be MIA in body but not in spirit. I will be thinking of you all!! I am going to check in to get the miles posted but if you don't hear from me, please don't think I have deserted you. You are all way too awesome to do that to!!!!

We are home! Just in time for the foot of snow planned for this afternoon!

Just a few quick updates:
Last Thursday: RAN on the treadmill (!) for 1 mile in 12 minutes (15 all together) then 1/2 hour with personal trainer. I will never call the treadmill the dreadmill again!

No riding this week since my DH locked me out of the house during the power outage and I was unable to get my riding gear (yes, it was unintentional- garage door opener was all I had and it would not work without power)

Wednesday: ran again on the treadmill for 1 mile in 11 minutes (15 all together) then personal trainer for 1/2 hour. He kicked my butt- I am so sore!

Thursday: 1 hour fitness yoga

Well, wer're actaully getting all the snow they predicted--10-12", so I took to the gym this am and did my 10-miler. Tough on the treadmill, but I got it done. 10.1 miles in 95 minutes, including a few breaks for water/gel. Tack on another 10 minutes of exercises during PT.

Tomorrow is my least favorite "marathon"--driving 750 miles to my Mom's, and this time doing all the driving. Talk about a mental test. So hopefull I will check back in on Sunday from MA.

Time to go pack and eat--actually, eat and then pack!

Maura
