Super early easter april 19, 2014 fantasy cruise!

Had a conversation with Kathy this morning and we talked about the split. with the number of people that would like to be a part of both groups and the number of people who want certain cabins in their group if we split it is only going to know the number down to 30 cabins per list at this point with 42 cabins I don't think it would be an advantage to split the group. Thoughts?

I know it is a tough call when people who have already bought their supplies and stuff, but honestly if the group stays at 150 people, I may need to consider dropping from the list or reconsider what gifts I had planned. 42 cabins or even 30 cabins is a lot of work for any family Pre cruise (getting FE gifts to together) as well as on the ship delivering to that many rooms. Just keep us posted. It sounds like the cut off will be coming up so lets see if it ends up getting any bigger.

I voted for a split as well. If we do decide to split, can you please make sure we (#10) are on the same list as koalabear4 (not yet on list) and the Reed family (#38) that I added. They are traveling with us. Thanks

I'm on the roll call, but my family isn't. My family includes Jennifer, Aaron, Malachi (10), & Molly (6). We're all so excited for our first Disney cruise!!

I am hoping for a split too. I totally agree with the above. 150 is way too many people for many reasons. It is overwhelming to first timers, will take quite a bit of time to deliver you cant do as nice of gifts. I just saw amazing bracelets on another site someone did on another FE exchange. They were beautiful but we could never do something like that with this many. Also we are flying and its Easter week. I'm not going to have a ton of extra space in my luggage. I will probably have to drop out to and just bring gifts for my own kids if it stays where it is at or maybe those who are opposed to splittting can do their own group

I read on the FB page that some excursions are already full. This is our first cruise. Has anyone found it a problem to sign up for excursions? We can't sign up until February 3rd. How many back up choices should we have?

Trying to decide which two items to get autographed thru guest services. I really like the pillowcase idea. Has anyone done this before? How do the signatures hold up in the wash? Is there a special treatment I could do afterwards to prevent fading?

My youngest is all about decorating the door. I read that door decorations must be hung with magnets. Has anyone used the magnetic paper that you can put in the printer? Is the magnet strong enough for the door? Or do you suggest doing it the old fashioned way and attaching magnets to the back?

We have used the magnetic paper and not had a problem. I have found a difference between the paper that comes in roll and the paper that comes in flat sheets- the kind that is rolled up is similar to a matte and the ones I bought flat are glossy. The glossy ones pick up finger prints and leave them on the print. I prefer the matte kind.

And I checked this morning and in St Thomas/St John the only thing booked up is the full day snorkl land beach. And all the cabanas are gone for castaway.

We changed St Thomas excursions today- we were going to do the 1/2 doubleloon snorkel but changed to st john champagne snorkel. Both get great reviews but the second one gives you a small opportunity to go to a beach if you like. I just couldnt imagine going to such a beautiful area and not getting to step foot on the beach. And who doesnt love champagne?!?

Counting down the days. Dh's parents will pay off the balance this week so next weekend they can get online and checkin and pick their excursions.

Looking outside with a new fresh 6" of snow and degrees this week dipping back down past zero- April seems like a long time from now.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Just a suggestion on the split...
I read somewhere (on FB or an earlier DIS post) about the possibility of splitting into 3 groups in order to keep it manageable for everyone. Any more thoughts on that?
We want to be in all the groups and we are in favor of splitting to keep everyone happy!

I am still hopeful on a split, especially if we have not closed out the list. I am not a crafty person so a lot of my things are purchase, which has been getting quite costly. I want to give nice gifts to everyone and 150 people really is a lot. I will participate no matter what the final decision is, but the gifts won't be as nice if the split doesn't take place. Thank you again for taking the time to organize the FE and get everyone's input. It really is appreciated.

I'm still voting for a split even if it is for 30. I generally give the adults in the stateroom one gift but individual gifts for each kid. If we don't split, I will probably change to just one gift per stateroom which is less fun for the kids, or not participate at all.

Kathy - if the FE is not split, can you give out the final count after the cut off date and give those overwhelmed people a day or two to back out?

I'm with those that hope for a split.
New to Disney Cruises and FE and 150 gifts put together, and to fly from Calif. is rather daunting.

ps. I did read on here, or on FB that there's a possibility of a 3-way split. Depending how big the group gets before the cutoff, that would maybe keep it to 20 cabins or less?

OK, I have pretty much figured a way out to split once we reach the cut-off date so that everyone should be happy and able to join the fun without the stress, but I need to hear from everyone to know how they feel. Split or be on all, so that I can have total feedback on each participant.

I have noted all that have responded on this page of the thread. The ones that I don't see on the thread in the next few days, I will send a PM so that once the date gets here I can get the lists done ASAP. I can make this happen, but I need responses! :thumbsup2

Kathy
Mark us down to participate in all the lists. Thanks so much

Thanks Kathy for coordinating!!

We have done Pillow cases before. So far so good the permeant black sharpie had held up through many washes. We have also done photo mats. Those turn our really cute! Great way to frame some pics from the ship. Just remember if you shop for photo mats for the ship pictures. Those sizes are 6x8 or 8x10s.

I used to use the magnetic paper. It works great! We never had an issue with it. A few years ago i saw some door mangiest that were printed on card stock. laminated and had a small magnet on the back. We have been doing our magnets that way ever since. It is much cheeper than the magnetic paper!

Thank you so much Kathy! You're the best. I would like to be part of the split. Hey what kind of dogs do you have? Maltese? They're adorable! I have a Bichon and I am also a part time groomer. I just love dogs. Wish I could bring mine on the ship with me :)
