Please share your menu for Super Bowl Sunday.:)

I need to make my grocery list and look for sales. Thanks!

I always get my super bowl ideas from The Pioneer Woman. She has a section for Super Bowl Sunday under appetizers...I believe there is a make your own quesadilla idea and tons of awesome snacky stuff. Overall her website is probably one of my favorites for cooking. She is very funny.

I'm not sure if we can actually post the link so it's www dot thepioneerwomancooks dot com

Anyway, I'm in Iowa so it's 100 degrees below zero here (and will be for the next 3-4 months...can you tell I hate winter???) so I typically make a pot of chilli in the crock. I also have to make hot wings, that's pretty standard. Maybe some nachos grande? Meatballs in the crock? I mix it up every year, so I'm not even sure what we'll do...it changes every year.

Our menu is always the same:

Chili with all the fixings -cheese, sour cream, chives
Baked potatoes - cheese, chili, sour cream, chives, butter, bacon

Buffalo wings
Veggie tray with dip
Fruit tray with dip

Pretzels/chips
Cheddar Beer Dip
Artichoke/Asiago Dip
Garlic Dip

Tums :rotfl:

Whatever T-Rex in DTD has on the menu that nite! :thumbsup2

(5:30pm ADR there)

DH, & DS10 will not be dining with us that nite...but watching the game elsewhere.

Mine always begins with a 3ft sub from my local deli. (aka a grinder in some areas)

I tend to shake it up every year depending on how many people attend.
Last year was 22 adults 18 children

Manwich. Crockpot in the morning set it and for get it until game
Pulled pork. Again I have a good crock pot recipe that is set it and forget it.
Terriaki or buffalo wings. Pain in the rear but I feel something is missing if i don't make them.

Certain years I'll make hot dogs, tray of ziti or meatballs to substitute the above.

Everyone brings an app or dessert so it makes for a pigout all day :D

Here is my menu for the last 10 years pulled pork, buffalo wings, Chips and beer.

the rest is pot luck :) depending on who comes it could be anything from chili to T-bones and anything and everything in between. 1 yr someone brought a full course turkey dinner.

Love the Pioneer Woman Cooks!!!! Thanks for recommending it.

I found this recipie on these boards last year:

Buffalo Chicken Dip

2 cups cooked chicken, diced or chopped
--- or one large can/pouch of chicken
4-8 oz. Franks Hot Sauce
12-18 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup blue cheese or ranch salad dressing
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
1 bunch celery, washed and cut into sticks
1 box chicken-flavored or other snack crackers

Preheat Oven: 350°

In a large bowl combine: chicken, hot sauce, cream cheese, dressing and ½ of the shredded cheese. (Adjust the amounts of hot sauce and/or cream cheese to make the dip mild, medium or hot per your own taste.)

Pour mixture into a greased baking dish and sprinkle with remaining cheddar cheese. Bake at 350º F for 25 to 30 minutes.

I found it a little mild for my taste so you can adjust the hot sauce accordingly...it was delicious!!!
Serve with celery sticks and chicken crackers

if you go to Allrecipes.com and type in "Party Kielbasa made easy" it really really is easy! I cook mine for 3 hours last weekend and it was PERFECT! I got raves from the family and I used low-fat kielbasa (if you can just imagine).

Okay, call me crazy, but I went to allrecipes.com and there were two "Party Kielbasa" and "Kielbasa Made Easy" or am I seeing things :)

They both looked delicious! So which one did you use? and can I cook it at low heat on the stove instead of crockpot?

Sounds great!

I make a big pot of chili and we get some Hooters hot wings to go. We also have chips and salsa and today I made some homemade guacamole and it was really good.

Here is a Chicken Wing Recipe that goes over very well here. It's a must for every Super Bowl Party.

Chicken wings cut into the wing and drumstick portion
(you can buy it that way if you can find it another name for them Wingetts)

Salt (Lawyers garlic salt if you have it)
and pepper the wings and cook at 375 for about 35 minutes turning once.

The key is the Master Choice BBque sauce . After baking the wings put generous amt of sauce on them and then grill (adding extra sauce). Easy, peasy, Wa-la!! Enjoy!!

(Psst. Sometimes I don't grill them when it's so cold, I just put the broiler on in the oven and watch carefully.;) )

I don't know how I missed this, but I'm freezing just reading that sentence. :scared1:

can't comment about the stovetop as I used a crockpot other than to say that I would think you'd have to watch the pot like a hawk b'c of the barbecue sauce burning. 2 recipes - OMG! - it figures :rolleyes1 .

The one I used was "Kielbasa Made Easy" by Kimberly and had 3 easy steps:
1) brown the kielbasa on the stove then add to the crockpot
2) add a bottle of barbecue sauce and a can of whole cranberry sauce to the crockpot, stirring well (I took the recommendation of using just 1 can of cranberry sauce)
3) simmer on low for 3 hours (it will be "done" in 1 hour but 3 worked well)

For us it depends on what teams are in the game. We usually try to get food from the teams (city or state) that are playing. Last year we had Manhattan Clam Chowder, deli meats from Carnegie Deli (it just happened that my DH had a meeting in the City that Friday so I made him stop by there :) ), cheesecake, etc.

The staples are chips, salsa, artichoke dip, spinach dip & beer :lmao:

LOL...well it's actually 2 here right now if I look at my outdoor thermometer....which is the same as 100 below to me. :rotfl2:

I don't know if it's my age or what...but every year I hate winter more and more. I've lived my whole life here so you'd think I'd be used to it.:confused3

I'm not sure what we'll be serving this year.....I try to tailor the menu to the teams that are playing in the game....when the Redskins took on the Bills back in the 90s I actually did Buffalo chili.

for tomorrow Eagles game we are having pigs in the blanket (hotdogs wrapped in crescent rolls) and loaded nachos.
