Super Bowl 44 Predictions

My son goes to a Jefferson Parish Public school and they haven't said anything about coming late or having that day off. So we'll see.

Jefferson Parish has a full day. Their website says they support the Saints but education is more important. I joke that they are not going to be getting that much of an education because the teachers are gonna be too tired/hungover? to do much more than busywork anyhow. But Jefferson Parish seems to think they employ robots. I would expect to see a lot of subs too...

so does that mean you're not going on a cruise this year and going in a few years instead?? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:lmao:You caught that, huh? Soooo...the Monday after the Super Bowl, WHEN the Saints win, I fully expect you to revisit this thread and eat crow...deal?

My friend teaches in Jeff Parish and they told her they are definitely having school- I know a BUNCH of teachers put in for personal days- how are they going to have enough subs?

Half the staff was out "sick" the morning after the NFC Championship game...;)

I'm just hoping hoping the Colts will win (I graduated from UT with Peyton in 1997...he really is a nice guy).

Honestly, I can't predict who will win. The Saints may be the underdog, but you have to be a good underdog to make it thru the playoffs to the Super Bowl. In the Super Bowl, the winner isn't necessarily the best team during the season, just the best team THAT day.

If it was anyone other than the Colts, I'd be rooting for the Saints.

But...yeah...

Go colts!

I don't know about delaying or closing schools on Monday here in Lafayette (Louisiana, not Indiana), but some of the churches are cancelling Sunday evening Masses or moving the time up from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. One of the large Protestant churches has cancelled their evening service and has invited their members to go just to watch the game! GEAUX SAINTS!!!:cheer2:

haha! That's hilarious and awesome at the same time. Man...and I though Indy was a football city...apparently we don't compare :lmao:

i think the mental attitude will decide. the colts have accepted that their path through the playoffs was fraught with danger, but they came through in the end with confident ease. they will understand how to stay focussed. the saints have a tremendous offence but their attempts to mirror thr ravens defence will be picked apart by manning, saturday and collie. i think the saints are so excited by going to their first superbowl they may not be concentrating on the game itself. i wish them well, but the colts will win. saints ahead after first quarter, the colts will slowly edge back by the half. neck and neck in the third. pulling away in the end. the uk loves its nfl, believe me!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are 58 posters in this thread using the thread tools. I don't think the 3 quoted above who believe it'll be a blowout by the Colts equate to very many. I think the majority of those posting their predictions here believe the teams are pretty evenly matched and since they were the #1s in their divisions, I think they must be pretty evenly matched. I'm excited for a good game!

I watched the NFL network's rerun of the Giants-Patriots game in 2008 last night. Talk about an underdog! I don't think there was a single analyst that said the Giants could do it. It was pretty cool watching Eli and the Giants take down the big, bad, undefeated Patriots. Never count your chickens, as they say!!

Not true, Sports Illistrated actually picked the Giants and I know a few other analysts. While it was the biggest upset in super bowl history, I think it was more predicted then you would expect. Since the Giants had almost beaten the Patriots already, and since they had an amazing playoff run going, they had a chance to beat them.

The Saints weren't really an underdog through the playoffs though, they are the number one seed in the NFC

Actually, I think the Jets beating the Colts was the biggest upset in Super Bowl history. But then, I'm actually old enough to remember that, LOL.

bumping this up because someone bumped up a 2002 thread!

Woohoooo so super excited for this game!!

3 days away.

I've got a friend selling shirts with a blue horseshoe and "Dat's Who" on them lol.

Did anyone hear that the Madden NFL 2010 game did their superbowl simulation and the Saints won 35-31. Their prediction has been right 5 out of the last 6 years.
I don't put much stock in these things but hey who knows... ;)

The Colts were not undefeated that year;)

So I googled the Madden predictions... and in July they predicted the Patriots would murder the Saints in the Superbowl. At least they were right about the Saints making it to the Superbowl. I don't put a whole lot of stock in it either.

I'm getting nervous/excited/anxious...every emotion rolled into one. I laughed at the Who Dat invasion of South Beach:lmao:- there are no fans like Saints fans!!!

Did you see the bus Mousie & Abdul came in on?:rotfl2:

Yes!!! Mike and I were watching it at about 1 this morning (DVR) and we were screaming with laughter!!! The hoopdie bus in South Beach- I don't think the people there could have EVER been prepared for the sights they are seeing this weekend!
