Super angry!!

My DD (9) went to a water park yesterday with a friend and her family. While on the lazy river ride she got jammed up with a bunch of empty tubes and couldn't move them. (She is fairly small and petite). A lady came up behind her (dd said,"she was old, like 30 or 40") and yelled at her to move. DD couldn't move so the lady KICKED HER!!!!

My daughter is a people pleaser. She generally does not lie because she hates to get in trouble. She also never wants to get anyone else in trouble. On the rare occations that I feel that she may be exagerating or leaving something out, she will imediately come clean upon being questioned. She is also extremely respectful to adults and people in general. I questioned her at length about what happened. I thought maybe that the lady had used her foot to help push her through the tube jam and accidentally kicked her. DD swears that this was not the case but that the lady intentionly kicked her in the side. Her and her friend then went to find her friends parents. When they pointed her out to the dad, the lady flipped them off (she didn't know that, the dad told me later) and stuck her tounge out at them. Then she dissapeared into the crowd.

Today, my dd has a huge black and blue bruise on her side from rib to hip! I am sooooooo angry!!! I cannot imagine intentionally injuring or attacking a child. I wish me or my DH had been there.......the outcome of this story would be far different! Sorry, just wanted to vent!:headache:

Ooooh....I can't use the words I want to use to describe that individual, so I will just say karma is a you-know-what, and I hope your DD feels better.

The outcome for me would have been (if I had been there) that I would have ended up in jail!!

Yep, I would've been there too. Your poor girl, that's awful! :( I hope she's feeling better! :flower3:

Were there any other grown ups around at all?? I wouldn't have stood for seeing ANY adult kick ANY child, mine or not! Errrgh, people like this make me SO ANGRY

I doubt they can do anything now -- I mean, the woman's gone, and the possibility of identifying her is remote.

I would think that if the security cameras were able to get a decent picture of the WITCH, the police could put out a "do you know this woman?" kind of thing. I've seen that done on the local news, too - "call police at ________ if you have any information on the identity of this woman"

OP - yeah, I would go to the police and see what they could possibly do for you. I'm so sorry your daughter was assaulted like this.

I'm not understanding how the lady could reach your daughter to kick her, since your daughter was caught in a tube-jam. :confused3 Doesn't make sense to me. That stinks for your daughter, though.

There was a tube jam. My daughter came up upon it. She could not get through. The person who kicked her came up behind her. She kicked my child.

DD is much better today. Still a little sore but we had a long talk about what to do should anything like this ever happen again. We did take some pictures of her bruises and I am going to try to get ahold of the park office today just to see if there is any action I can take. I am not optimistic that they will be very helpful. As someone on here mentioned....the person is in the wind now. I really was very upset about this and needed an outlet to vent about it. Thanks to everyone for your support and indignation on behalf of my little girl. It made me feel a little better.:goodvibes

I'm really glad you got the pictures. I also hope that the park will cooperate and try to get some sort of photos to look at. What that woman did was absolutely disgusting and horrifying. I'm glad your daughter is feeling better, but she shouldn't have gone through that in the first place.

.

Wow. I'm in shock - your poor DD!! That is traumatizing to a kid. I hope it doesn't deter her from going back and having fun.

I also say that you should talk to the manager of the park, let them know what happened and at least make sure that they aknowledge it.

OP... your post makes me want to vomit. I am so sorry for your DD.

First take pictures. Next call the water park and make sure they do not copy over the security tapes, as they only keep them so long before they are recorded over at many places. Then call the police and file a report. You will not be allowed to view the security footage without a report most likely. I would definitely follow through with charges. It was done on purpose, an the lady wasn't even close to remorseful. I would be sure she thinks twice before hurting anyone else.

:thumbsup2, I agree, I would also have your daughter's physician look her over just to make sure that she did not have any internal injuries. If she kicked your DD that hard to bruise, she may have injured something as well. I am all for documentation, as it will be the only leg you have to stand on if something happens later. hope she feels better.

Not sure hwere this happened, but these parks have cameras everywhere. You could probably track her down and prosecute if you so desire. If it were me, I'd track her down. Not sure what I'd do when I caught her, but I'd track her down.

Absolutely, me too.

I feel so bad for your poor daughter.

I'm not trying to stand up for the idiot woman at all, but just maybe she was trying to kick your daughter's innertube to help push her through and her foot slipped?

If I were to accidentally kick a child that hard, I would have asked the child where there parent/guardian was sitting so that I could go over and explain what happened.

OP, don't be so sure that they can't track her down. Does this park have season passes?

I am glad you are documenting the bruises, and reporting it to the park.

that is absolutely ridiculous. I'm sorry your daughter had to go through that. There aren't any words to discribe what I would do that lady if it had been my child, not any good ones that I can use here anyways.

I doubt they can do anything now -- I mean, the woman's gone, and the possibility of identifying her is remote.

I would still file a police report, and let them look into it. It won't cost you anything but a little time. They have ways of getting info if they feel there is anything that can be done. Let them handle it. Keep in mind that they identify people everyday from video surveilance, checking time people entered the park with credit card receipts, etc.

That is so horrible. It just amazes me how hateful and evil some people can be.

Hope your daughter is feeling better.
