So I went in to SR to try and earn my paltry .01 - .03 this a.m. with the scratch-off game and instead got "Sorry, you were not one of the members randomly chosen to receive a ticket".

So now we only have a *chance* to get a ticket to have a *chance* to win a few pennies? Unbelievable. :sad2:

I don';t understand why if its so "paltry" why you even care. There are so many other ways to make money on reward sites, especially SR that I don't even waste my time with something like that.

First, there was always a limited number of people who could get the scratch off game. I believe the number is 500 people. It used to be the first 500 people but that caused issues because of time differences there were people who never got a chance unless they stayed up until midnight eastern time to do it. It was changed so that it is a random thing now and everyone has equal chance to get to play the game and win some pocket change.

Second, this game is meant as a fun little extra for members. It is not a money making game. The most you can win is .03 a day which would be 10.95 a year. It is truly meant as something you do when you sign in to do other things. Those who do only the scratch off and do not do any other parts of SR are not SR members/customers. They are costing SR money. I think the time it takes to sign in and click on the game and then choose three squares could be better used doing one of the 6 daily surveys and making a portion of $4.00 a day.

Sorry you didn't get your chance to play the game but I truly don't understand the complaint. It is still done randomly only now it is done more fairly so people don't just sign in at midnight to play the game and leave. :confused3

The only reason I care is because Sunshine used to be such a great site but it's really lost its appeal for me (I was a Super member many times over) and it's a shame. I get paid much more on other sites (and in a MUCH more timely manner). I never get credited properly for offers or surveys and have all but given up visiting the site regularly. I'm only trying to earn enough to eventually cash out one last time since I have some money just sitting there. It's just annoying to have it changed up again and made even more paltry.

And jnorth, do you honestly believe that people who only do the scratch-off (Are there any that really do just that? It would never amount to much, now, would it?) are *costing* SR money? Mere pennies a day? I don't think so.

If you are happy to have things set up the way they are at SR, more power to you. But this is an open forum and I certainly have the right to express my disappointment at yet another little cutback out there in rewards land.

My comment was that there has been no "cut back" in the amount of money SR is giving away each day in the scratch off game. They are still giving away 500/600 (I'm not sure which) chances at the money like they always did. The only difference is that now it is random as to who gets it and not just the first 500/600 people who click on the link.

I didn't say that the people who do the scratch off only are costing SR money I said that they aren't making SR any money so they are not the members/customers that SR cares to cater too. They are much better served to make sure that the people who are making them money have a chance at a little something extra. The people who are signing on to make a penny are not those people.

I don't begrudge you moving on from SR at all. I was merely trying to explain what had changed with the scratch off. I was clarifying that SR in fact had not decreased the amount of money or scratch offs they were giving away but had randomized who was getting them. I think ultimately everyone has to decide which sites work best for them. I totally agree that there are sites that pay more and pay faster. However, I have found that these are the sites that end up going out of business because they have been hit by fraud. I have had points/money end up disappearing from other sites and I am not willing to waste my time on that anymore. That doesn't mean that everyone else shouldn't. It is a personal decision.

My reason for posting was to say that your information (that they were not giving away as many chances) was not correct and that truly it is the smallest part of SR. If the post had said that you were unhappy with your crediting percentage or the cash out time on SR then I would have read your post and moved on. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I agree. I've made $5.71 in a little over 4 years on the scratch off. I've made over $1,700 on surveys, a little shopping and some freebie offers. The scratchoff was never intended to be a wage winner, just a fun game. They recently switched to the random selection because, as I understand it, the old system of 500 available first come first serve, really excluded alot of west coasters.

While I don't think it is a break the bank expense for SR, it is an expense nontheless. And, if you've ever run your own business, any expense IS and expense to carefully consider. This is even more pertinent in this economy. The scratch off is not like offers, they get no %. It is just o.o.p. for them. And don't forget the SuperMembers don't have a daily cap limit, so doubtful it is mere pennies for SR, I bet it comes out to a thousand or two per year. Thats something to consider when watching your p's & q's

I agree with alot of the opinions here, I'm just giving my personal one. I can probably count on one hand the surveys or offers that have not credited in the four years I've been a member.

I guess my biggest plus is that, while I have dabbled in other sites along the way, they've all come and gone, and I'm still on SR. And they are still there. I like to trust in that sort of longevity.

But in the end, everyone has to do what is best for their own personal situation and preferences.

I've made $7.06 in three years on scratch offs, but I've made over $1700 on SR in that same amount of time. It's not the scratch off that is paying for my Disney trips - it is the surveys and the shopping. The scratch off is just for fun.

Besides, if you are a Super Member, you get to do the scratch off everyday, even if the number of tickets have already been used.

I have received every penny I have cashed out for at SR, and I have always gotten my gift cards within the time frames stated on the site. No complaints here - they deliver what they promise with great customer service. :)

Yes, I live in Florida and am a sun goddess. Both my boys love it in the sun too, hence the name. I don't post much, I'm pretty private but just read the boards a lot. I do get tired of seeing people constantly running down sites. If you don't like them, just don't use them. But, I guess since everyone has an opinion they like to boast it to try to retailiate for something they don't like.
