What kind of vehicle do they use these days for the Sunset Safari? Is it completely open or is there any sort of roof to protect people from the sun? I don't normally bring a hat with me but if we're going to be out for an hour or more in the sun I think I'll need one. Thanks!

ETA: Since this isn't DVC specific, feel free to move this to the proper forum. Sorry!

It's a covered truck so you should be fine.

A hat will keep the birds from getting caught up in your hair. It happens all the time.

There was a canopy/roof cover on the truck. And it's evening, the sun isn't generally right overhead.

I have a lot of hair but I still can't see where there were any birds in it.

Well.....I didn't say it actually happens on the Sunset Safari....But I have seen it happen with birds..... and bats......and spiders to.

Thanks. It's true that the sun won't be that strong by 4pm but I didn't want to risk getting sun burned on my first day. After the long winter up here in New England I'm afraid I'm going to burn to a crisp after 5 minutes in the sun!

Thanks everybody!
