with the carry on rules abour liquids, how do you handle bringing sunblock so that you have it when you arrive. I ask because we are using ME which means we won't get our bags for a while to be able to grab the bottles i have packed and we arrive before noontime so we really were hoping to make use of the pool until our cabin is ready. but we need sunblock for the kiddos especially and i do not want to buy it in the gift shop with their hefty price tags if there is another acceptable way to carry it on the plane. I was thinking the sublock sticks, but are those also considered a substance that are unacceptable? I also have some sample sized sublock i got at a skin cancer screening that is in little 1/2oz packets like the one's you get shampoo samples in, wonder is those are ok to bring. Any suggestions, thoughts?

I buy one or two of the small size, i.e. sample size, bottles of suntan lotion at Walmart and put them in my carry-on. I then have a normal size bottle in my checked luggage. Your sample sizes in 1/2 oz packets sound fine to me.

Just in case you haven't flown in a while, each person can have 1 quart size plastic bag with liquids in original (I think) bottles 3 oz or less. You must take the bag out of your carry-on when going through security a put it through in a bin.

You can carry on little travel-size bottles 3oz or less in a quart-size ziploc bag and you must declare it . Not positive, but I think I heard it must display the volume of the bottle, so a plain, clear bottle would not be acceptable.
I use Hawaiian Tropics Baby Faces SPF 60. It has a little mini bottle that hooks onto the main bottle like a puzzle piece. You could put the mini in your carry on and bring to the parks and refill from the bigger bottle as needed.

oh i saw those one's with the clip ons today at walmart and wondered if i should get it and try to carry it on. I knew there was some liquid allowed, i thought it was like 1oz so good to know its 3. I have no other liquids in my bag, this sunblock will be it. Thanks for your suggestions !

Neutrogena makes sunblock in a 3 oz. tube. I just bought some since we only do carry on. It fits fine in the quart bag.

We have 3 of those clip ons. One for the baby, one for the older kids, and one for the adults!! I'm putting them in the quart size zipper bag, and taking them as a carry on!!

At Target and Walmart I was able to find 10z. tubes of SPF 30 sunscreen. Walmart has it with the travel-size toilerties and some by the checkout. Target has with the travel-sizes, and the ones I got were reduced to $0.68 each.

Rite-Aid had a 3oz tube of their brand of sunscreen, and it wasn't labeled as just for faces. Every other 3oz tube I saw at any store was a higher SPF (like 50 or 60) or labeled for faces.

CVS has their own brand of sunscreen in 3 ounce tubes. That's what we'll get. remember that each passenger can bring a quart bag with stuff in it (each thing no bigger than 3oz). So you can actually bring quite a few in a qt. bag.

I've always had a bottle from the lotion at the Disney hotels (red, black and yellow with Mickey on it) that I had emptied the lotion out of (or was it shampoo?) and put my sunscreen in to carry in the parks. I assume the TSA will just assume my sunscreen is the lotion or shampoo listed on the outside of the bottle.

LOVE the clip on idea, THANKS!!

Just got the 2oz. CVS sunblock for us..a bigger tube will be packed in checked baggage.

Aveeno and Neutrogena both sell 3oz. tubes as well

OP~ Thanks for asking the question. I leave next week & hadn't even thought about that! We are using ME too & will definitely need some sunscreen when we get there. I wasn't clear on all the carry on restrictions.

im planning on bying sun protectio wipes, ive heard they are really good.here's the link spwipes.com

Thanks for the ideas! I've been so focused on packing my checked bag that I hadn't even thought about what I was going to carry on and need when I first get to the park! (also using ME!)
