sundown mingle at AKV?

Can anyone tell me what this is like? We'll be at AKV next week and I'm wondering if it is worth going to. I've never heard of it before and haven't seen anything on the boards about it!

We are there the week before you. Haven't decided if we'll go or not yet. I wonder how new it is since there doesn't seem to be much out there in it. Maybe I'll have to give it a try and report back.

If you attend, please do report back. I found a scan of the invite on another forum. Ours has not arrived yet. The kids and I will be arriving too late on the 13th to attend, but Wednesday is a possibility. If it's for the younger kids we can bow out as mine are older teens now and they'd probably shoot me if I asked them to go to a kid function. But I'd love to know what it is anyway.

I received it too. We arrive on the 6th. Its on that Monday and Wednesday. I think I am going to do Monday since we have a 6pm at Boma. Its from 5-6pm.

We'll be there on the 6th as well. I called and tried to reserve a spot for my group and couldn't get through to the DVC desk in the lobby. The woman at concierge said they have not turned anyone away so I hope we'll be able to attend.

I saw an advertisement in the lobby about the "Sundown Mingle", but never had a chance to look into it.

Only Jambo. Transportation will be provided between Jambo and Kidani.

You may want to check as soon as you arrive. I'm only there for a couple of nights and then we go to the Boardwalk so I want to make sure I get into the Monday "Mingle".

Do you pre register for this? Is it a DVC presentation like the one at BLT or is just a social hour?

I received this e-mail as well since we are going to be there later next week.I was going to post it but I still haven't mastered the posting pictures to this site and it also contained our family name in the message. I'm sure this is being used to replace the TOTWL soliciting at BLT now that BLT is sold out and AKV is being marketed.I would have went to one ( I'm sure they would have some kind of DVC pin for the event like at BLT ) but I have ADR's at the same time. They are being held at Jambo house Monday and Wednesday from 5:00-6:00 and have activities for the kids if you bring them. I am curious to what others will have to say about the event once some of us have the chance to attend.

We arrive on Tuesday, Aug. 14th and just received an email today as well. We night go on Wednesday - we have a 3 year old though so really would love to know what it is like before we go... If we decide to go, we'll report back , too!

We will be at Kidani on the 13th, and yesterday received a mailed invitation. Mentions free drinks and appetizers, an area for young children and to bring family & guests you're traveling with! I think we may check it out Monday before we head to DTD!
