Well, it's now one year to the day that my mother passed away at the young age of 66 from Gallbladder Cancer. In some ways, the year has gone fast, and in others I can't even believe I haven't spoken to her for 365 days.
She wasn't sick for very long (7 weeks from diagnosis to death) however she did have a scare the fall before with a diagnosis of CHF (heart failure) which was more of a 7-10 year diagnosis.
My mom was a pretty tough cookie, the exact opposite of me. I was carefree and naive whereas she was no-nonsense. I saw the world in rainbow colors and she only saw it in Black and White. One thing I can say though is that she loved her family, my dad, my older brother and myself more than anything else in her world (well, she loved the Mets too). She first brought us to WDW when I was 7. I remember that like it was yesterday.
Her last days were very sad however we all had our chance to say our peace and tell her we loved her. Not everyone gets that chance and I am thankful that I did and was able to spend almost every day of that 7 weeks with her even if it was only for an hour after work.
Well, i'm losing it now as I write this, so i'll just wrap it up and just say that I Love you and miss you and someday we'll be together again in Heaven.
