We are arriving on November 26th (Saturday after Thanksgiving) for 7 nights. I did not plan on going near the parks that day because of Thanksgiving crowds.

I have read mixed reviews about the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Some sites say that the parks empty out because it is a big travel day; others say that the crowds last until Monday or Tuesday.

Anyone who has been there that day- what have your experiences been?

I'm dying to know, as well. Our first park day will be that same day! We're planning to do MK. Also hoping people will travel a lot that day.

We went to Disney the Saturday after Thanksgiving back in 2003. We avoided the parks that day, but went to MK on Sunday. It wasn't bad at all. We had 10 min wait or less on everything up intil mid afternoon, and then it got more crowded, but still wasn't too bad. I think it's a big travel day.

Hi!

In 2004 we arrived at WDW on 11/27, the Sat after Thanksgiving. We didn't have park tix for that day, so we swam in the pool and later went to DTD. It was a little crowded but very manageable. Sorry, don't know how the parks were that day.

On Sunday morning, 11/28, we went to MK. I was understandably worried about the crowds and expected the worst. People were piling into MK and the security lines to get in were long. Once we got into the park and past Main St, I wondered where the crowds went. We were able to move about better than I expected for the Sunday after Thanksgiving... that is... until we got to Fantasy Land, or close to it. That's when I found out where everyone had gone. It was pretty bad.

Later in the afternoon at MK, things got a bit better crowdwise, but Fantasyland was still the hot spot. I was dying to flee Fantasy Land and go back to the resort for a break, which we did. I kept thinking tomorrow will be better. The crowds will have left.

On the Mon after Thanksgiving, we headed to MK and so did everyone else. People were piling off the monorail and the lines to get in were pretty long. I was surprised it was so darn crowded. To be honest, I felt Monday was more crowded than Sunday. Then I read most people start their vacations on Mon and end up at MK. With early December getting more and more crowded as the years progress, I'm thinking early January is the "new early December." ;)

Have fun!
Tink

We also are going the same time as you :Pinkbounc We arrive 11/26 and don't plan on going to any parks and staring off 11/27 at MK. We did this in 2004 and found MK to be pleasant for the day. It was more "crowded" than say Wednesday later in the week but still not what I would classify as "crowded".

In 2003 we didn't arrive until Sunday after T-giving and our first park day was that Monday at MK and it was much more crowded than the Sunday in 2004.

Wow, sounds like several of us will be coming in then! I'm planning to do Epcot that Sunday. I was there on Memorial Day a few years ago, and once you're inside, Epcot doesn't seem crowded. Also, it's a great opportunity to see the Holiday storytellers.

Last year we arrived on THanksgiving Day...we went to MGM in the afternoon to kill some time while we waited for our room to be ready. It was a zoo. After dinner at Chef Mickey's we went to Epcot...again, a zoo. The day after, Friday, my dad and stepmom drove up from Pompano Beach to spend some time with us. It was awful in Epcot once again. We went to Epcot a lot since we were at BWV. On Sat we did AK and that wasn't too bad. Sunday in MK was crowded, more so than I thought it would be. I thought that by Monday it would die down a bit. Not nearly as much as I had hoped for. By Tuesday night things were quite nice and on Wed, when we were getting ready to leave it was perfect...naturally. I am going again this year, but solo. I'll arrive on Nov 30 and leave on Dec 4. After being there 3 weeks ago, I don't think I'll be complaining about crowds...anything would be better than last month. You should be okay by mid-week and before that it will just be a bit more congested. NOthing to worry or obsess over.
