Does anyone know if you are flying into Barcelona Spain for a cruise will I have any issues brining my Coppertone sunscreen in my checked luggage? Port stops are in France, Italy, and Greece.

Why would you assume there would be issues? Ive been flying from Europe to America for over 20 years and I always bring sunscreen.

I have heard that some places lke Hawaii will not allow certain sunscreens as some chemicals can damage the reefs. I do not know if this includes brining it into the state or for purchase. First time to Europe planning and curious.

Don't believe everything you hear. There isn't anyone in Hawaii policing your sunscreen.

There are no coral reefs in France, Italy, Spain or Greece.

You are in the right mind space to be aware of things like this. Depending on where you go in the world there is requirements to have reef-safe sunscreen or just general recommendations to buy the sunscreen once you arrive at the location. There are a lot of places that certain medications can lead to problems (ADHD meds being a prime example).

For the original question you'll be fine. We bring Equate SPF 50 Sport with us and have been to Europe multiple times. It's not something they have a restriction on. We've had sunscreen in both checked (when we've done our cruises) and carry on (when we've not done cruises) to Europe.

the only issue I have heard about was my husband- he had a travel size, spray sunscreen, in his carry-on. Under the 3-1-1 limit, it was confiscated.

What brand was it?

Was the spray sunscreen 3.4 oz or under?

What is put inside the same bag as your husband's other liquids?

Was it TSA or security in a country in Europe?
