I went out to the pool and I couldnt get the lotion all over my back. So, I have sunburn. I dont have an aloe plant. And I know the best advice is to have someone else put it on me next time.

So, what do I do?

Spread the aloe all over a door and rub against it.

Hey, it works for my pappy when he has a back itch. lol

Get aloe in a bottle to cool it. Take Advil or Mortin or some anti-inflamatory drug.

Hope you feel better soon.

I should have asked you before I went this morning!

Breezy Carol - will advil stop the itching?

Whenever I had a sunburn, I'd put a little noxema on it. Took the heat right out. (I know it's not aloe, but it's another little remedy.)

A washcloth soaked in vinegar will help, too. And you don't need an accomplice to do it.

Stinky, yet effective. ::yes::

call for pop daddy or monkey boy.
mb is known for his hands.::yes::
he can help

Can I use and exfoliating cream and take the skin off?

seriously, what will help now is benydryl.
take that and ibuprofren and you will have relief during the night.

that is what the doctor told me to do for one of my kids that had serious burn.
::yes::

Try some Solarcain spray. It really relieves the burning!:firefight That is what I use for myself and the kids! :p

No, I would think exfoliating will only irritate it more...and anytime I've sunburned, I've taken regular aspirin, it thins the blood and draws it away from the skin that is burning (well, might be an old wive's tale, but I do it anyway).

Soaking in the tub with some baking soda in the water can ease it also.

Hope you feel better! Been there, done that....(just wait til it decides to peel, than you will know what itchy is:teeth: )

Another vote for the vinegar soaked rag on your back.

The nice thing about this is it sometimes "saves" the tan and you don't end up peeling as much (if at all!).

Also if you like pickles, you get to feel like a big giant pickle for the night! :p :crazy:

LMAO I didn't realize that! How appropriate then. :p

I dunno about the advil or benedryl. I'm sure there's some info online about the use of either during pregnancy.

Gee, I'm not too good for advice on over the counter stuff if you are pregnant, maybe you should check with your Dr.. And depending on the degree you got burned, you may have some peeling.

I do heartily agree with the ol' vinegar trick, done that one too and it does work, but as others have said, you'll smell a little "briney" after a while!:crazy:

I will just take tylenol and use the washcloth. How long do you leave it on before you take a shower?
