Our family hasn't been to DLR in 4 years. We'll be there late August. We're planning on 5 day PH's.

Would you choose Sun-Thurs? or Mon-Fri?

I already have hotel reservations which will work for either scenario...we're just wondering if we should come in early or not (because we have the option to).

Thoughts?

THANKS!!

We have always flown down Sunday and gone into the parks Mon-Fri. Having said that, I haven't done late August before so I can't say about that time, but Sundays and Fridays are both quite busy. I would look at the entertainment schedule to see if there is something you want to see Sunday that maybe you won't see the rest of the week. Also, would you have more time based on flights on Sunday vs Friday?

Are you going to be there the whole time, or do you have to potential hotel reservations? What about taking a day off mid-week and going Sunday and Friday.

We are driving in, and can either arrive early in the afternoon on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. Our original plan was to arrive Monday, and get 1/2 day in the parks, then full days Tues, Wed, Thurs...then play Friday by ear according to how miserable/not-miserable the crowd levels were. But we now have the option to arrive early Saturday afternoon, just relax in hotel and Downtown Disney for the rest of that day....then do Sun-Thurs (full days) in the parks...or arrive on Sunday, relax in hotel and DD for the rest of that day, and then do the parks Mon-Fri.

Although I can appreciate the idea and practice, we don't take days off in the middle...usually because we don't feel the need for it and if there is a day in the middle-ish when someone needs a break, we can just cut our park time short that particular day without giving it up altogether.

It sounds like there's not much difference in opinion here regarding Sundays, Mondays, or Fridays in relation to crowds, etc. That's basically what I expected but I thought I'd ask anyway since it's been so long since our last visit.

Thank you! :)

ETA: We already have hotel reservations for Mon-Sat. I can add a day (or two) beforehand at a different hotel if necessary.

My vote is Sunday - Thursday because while Sunday and Friday are busy days, I find Sunday night a little more bearable than Friday night. It seems there are more locals who choose the beginning of the weekend, rather than the end, to stay out late.

As a previous poster pointed out both Sunday & Friday will have high crowds but by Sunday evening the crowds will thin, while Friday is the opposite and the crowds swell in the evening.

I'd choose Sun-Thurs for the thinning evening crowds on Sun and to end my trip on a less busy day vs ending it on a day that's just going to get busier as the day goes on.

I would avoid anything with a Sunday. Monday through Friday is the way to go from my experience.
