Anyone flown this airline??
We usually cross by car into the US and fly out of Detroit to Orlando But if we drive a little further to Lansing Michigan we can flly direct to MCO for much cheaper. It is a Boeing 737 --but I have never heard of this airline and want to know who has and if so if anyone here has flown with them.

have flown with sun country on charter fights from Tulsa to Laughlin and have had no complaints. They fly on a big plane and it's nonstop, which is hard to get out of Tulsa if you are going anywhere of any distance.

Howdy fellow canuck!! :goodvibes

We drove to MSP from Thunder Bay in January and flew Sun Country to MCO! We had a GREAT experience!! Two big thumbs up all the way! Every SC staff member that we encountered was kind, friendly, helpful and happy! The planes are fine, the flight was fine and we would definitely fly them again! :)

We flew Sun Country once. It was a charter flight from BOS to the Caribbean. I'll admit I was nervous flying with a company that sounded more like a lemonade brand than an airline, but it was fine.

They're a MN based airline out of Minneapolis / St. Paul. With the new NWA/Delta merger they brand themselves as the "Hometown Airline" now.

I used to fly them MSP to Dallas for work and flew them to Florida in 2009. They're sort of like a Southwest without the notariety or reach. You'll be fine.

I'm from MN too. We used to fly them all the time to MCO. Then Airtran came to that terminal and they can usually beat their prices. Always had a positive experience! They give you warm sandwiches on the flights!

Sun Country is a wonderful airline. Years and years ago, they were a charter airline, but they are not anymore. They are a full service airline based out of MSP.

If you take a look at the route map, http://www.suncountry.com/reservations/routemap.shtml they basically fly out of MSP with a few out of Lansing.

If price is right, I will always fly them. They don't monkey with flight times much and they take care of you in flight.

They do have assigned seating at $8 per person, which is affordable. They do have baggage fees, like most now a days.... 1st bag $20 if purchased online, $25 at airport.

We drove to Minneapolis last year and flew Sun Country to Orlando. LOVED the great service we got. The non-stop flight was awesome too. We are doing the same thing again in August. Rave reviews for Sun Country from me!

Sun Country Airlines has been operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection since October 2008. The airline unsuccessfully sought a buyer.

In April of this year, the airline filed a reorganization plan in an attempt to exit from Chapter 11, but, as far as I tell, the airline is still in Chapter 11.

I'm NOT saying that the airline is in danger of folding. Many airlines, including most of the legacy airlines, have gone through Chapter 11. Some of the smaller airlines have gone under instead of emerging successfully, but other have bounced back.

Just be aware of the airline's financial status. Also, be aware the some travel insurance companies won't cover airlines tickets if the airline is in Chapter 11.
