A friend of mine is going to WDW next week (lucky her!) I never do WDW in the summer so I have no tips to give her....could the experts here please tell me any tips on how to deal with summer heat, what attractions are best in summer, what to avoid in summer, etc.

Any and all help is much appreciated, fellow DVC'ers...this is a very special trip for her & her hubby!

Thanks!

Fastpass jungle cruise while you wait for Pirates. Fastpass Big thunder mt. rr while you wait for Splash mt. Fastpass peter pan or snow white while you wait for Philharmonic. Fastpass wiinie while you wait for Buzz. Get the idea.....fastpass a "outdoor queue" and wait in line at "indoor, cool AC'd queues".
Have fun, I'm jealous. Not going til Nov.1st!

If your room has a fridge, overnight freeze some small water bottles. They feel great in a fanny pack while you're standing in line, they slowly release very cold water, and they save you soft drink money.

We went one time at the end of May. Never again--too hot for this gal! Anywhoo, we constantly were drinking water and keeping hydrated. I had no idea how much I could drink and sweat in 1 week :earseek: .

My advice--get up very early and visit the parks. Have a plan of attack for the parks (like suedisney mentioned). Go back to the hotel by lunch (hopefully staying on site?) and rest (and drink!) and go back out when the sun goes down (or when properly rested!). Freezing water and keeping it in some type of insulated thingy works great, and as mentioned, saves $$.
