So we made our way downstairs to check out the Sea Raycers and of course the cost. I was very aware how much over budget we were and this was only the second week of our trip.
I could feel the sun penetrating my skin, today was a scorcher and I began to get concerned about going out on the boats, we all know that the water reflects the sun and I thought I might get burned. Never mind, I lived in hope (silly I know) but I hated the feel of that particular sun block I bought, it made me feel really hot, like I was wearing cling film.
So we looked at the board and noticed that a Sea Raycer would set us back $40 for the hour, it was possible to go on for 30 minutes but I am never one to do something by halves, as you should all know by now, so an hour it was. Initially we had considered going together, but Steven wanted a boat of his own and well, I was all up for some competition! So we walked up to the desk and of course we presented our gold cards which made me feel like royalty
She welcomed us and congratulated us on our wedding. I was surprised as we weren't wearing our buttons nor was I wearing my ears (yeah Minnie ears

) We hired 2 Sea Raycers for an hour and were told to pick up our life jackets and meet up on the dock for our instruction.
I picked a large life jacket as it is no secret that my chest isn't small, I am a 36 DD so squeezing them into a medium life jacket was just uncomfortable. Steven had a medium, which I wasn't pleased about, LOL.
We were shown a map of where we could and couldn't go on the bay and told how to use the boats. We were informed about the other much bigger boats in the water and how they always have right of way, too right they do, I ain't messing with those bad boys! After a brief safety talk, we found our boats and I made Steven go out first. I didn't want to crash into the dock and look stupid!
He started our engine and Steven was first to rev and go. I slowly followed and it only took me a few minutes to get the feel of it. Before I had a chance to fully get out of the dock, Steven away, like a duck to water I thought! No, no, he wasn't beating me, I revved my engine and let rip, WOO HOO, feel the wind in my face, it was so exhilarating. I caught up with Steven and we slowed down to discuss our route. We decided to circle the bay for a while before heading out into unknown territory.
We passed the GF, then The Poly and of course The Contemporary. I tried to catch wake from other boats as it was so much fun flying through the sky (literally) I noticed the coastguards had the best wake as they had the speed that the bigger boats didn't possess.
Steven managed to get a couple of pics of me:
We then moved on to The Wilderness Lodge before heading out into clearer water. There were loads of boats out, all different sizes, some were trying it on, I'm sure. One sneaked up on me, this huge Steam boat, yup it sneaked up on me, I was too busy trying to find the wildlife in the island we were at, all of a sudden this big hoot sounds, hmmm, too big to be a bird me thinks! I rev my engine and we go toe to toe, I feel like Kevin Bacon in Footloose when he plays chicken on a tractor, this was equally as stupid. I weave to the left and out of its path. Close call, man this is fun!
I look at my watch and note that we don't have that long left, we speed along the open water for another 15 minutes and occasionally slow down to chat and exchange stories of our adventures. With 10 minutes to go we decide it's time to head in, so we slowly make our way back, and I feel so free, the most at peace I have felt in years.
We approach the dock and talk excitedly about the prospect of doing this again, oh yes, it was that good. We take our life jackets off and head to the window to get my key. The woman asked if we had a good time and we both answer with big smiles! She again congratulates us and tells us that as wedding gift we haven't been charged for the hire of the boats, she wishes us well and we thank her profusely.
WOW, more pixie dust, I was in shock, Steven was in shock, we were so happy we were almost shaking. We hurried up to our room to take it all in.
We immediately headed out to the balcony and sat in the chairs to soak in the view. It was magical.
I went in to get us a soft drink and was greeted by this on the sideboard:
I was stunned, I slowly walked out to Steven and I asked him to come inside for a minute. I took him by the hand and led him over to our gift. He took one look and went back outside mumbling that it wasn't real, that he felt like he was in a fairytale or something. I ran back outside and dragged him in, I was now squealing with excitement. The card said "To Steven and Summer, Hoping all your dreams come true, Have a magical Honeymoon" There is a picture of Cinderella and Prince Charming and it is signed by both of them. It was such a wonderful gift.
We were both so shocked, Steven more so than me as he was speechless.
After we had calmed down, we put the champagne in the fridge and I decided to check out the mattress, no wonder it was so comfy:
We headed out to the balcony again and sat down as the sun began to set, it was beautiful:
I felt at home, and as I looked at the water glistening in the distance, I knew this moment would stay with me forever.
Coming up...
Dinner and watching Wishes from our room.
