Summer & Steven's Fairytale Wedding TR, 20th Aug SBP Baby Pics!!!

The Castle - I hadn’t expected to feel so moved by a building, but it was so magical, it was like seeing your dream in front of you and capturing it after many years, and it is a feeling that I will never forget, it was perfection.

You have just managed to put my thoughts & feelings into words that i could never find, when telling friends & family about seeing the castle for the 1st time!!!! thankyou thankyou

Loved the MK pics..stunning

looking forward to the next installment:goodvibes

Hi Summer, I love your Magic Kingdom photos I wasn't sure if I want to have a shoot there or not but after seeing your photos I've decided definately yes!!!

The more and more I hear about your mom, the more I think our moms should get together - mine has done the same exact thing :rotfl2: Maybe it's just a "mom thing". We are getting ready to board a plane for DL and Vegas with Mom...I'm sure we'll have many of these moments in the upcoming week! Can't wait to hear what you thought of MGM and Sci-Fi...

Actually, my job is never boring and I think that's why I love it. Not so much the mentally ill (that is hard work), but the fast paced work style fits me nicely. :) Plus, I completely agree that when I'm planning something I'm at my happiest....always something to think about, plan and look into...I'm always looking for the future "thing" to do. My DH hates that about me...live in the present, blah, blah...I like to look for the future ALL the time. I can have fun have now, but I can't wait to think of what to do in the future ;)

Your MK pictures are absolutely gorgeous!!!! I totally agree with you about the magical feel that the castle has a night. It's the lights!! They definetly make the scene!! I loved all your pictures!!!

DisneyLaura - Well Steven said if I actually complete my Law Degree we will go where ever I want, he also agreed to a VR in Disney at some point in the future. I always bargain, it's more fun.
I would imagine Disney would be alot of fun with children, that is one of the pros of having children, surely? A good excuse to go, teach them well, he can't exactly fight the 4 of you:rotfl:

You are right, going with children is awesome. When they see their character it's worth a millon dollars. I can remember like yesterday when my older DS saw Capt Hook, his eyes lit up. It was great. Now I am off to read your next installment.popcorn::

Still laughing about your mom, I could totally see my mom doing that too.:lmao:

DisneyObsession - Well the pixie dust certainly aint in this part of our instalment. I think it was too dark for Tinkerbell in Sci-Fi Dine-Inn. it is coming though, I promise.

MistressOfAllEvil - My mom is certainly not incapable. She lives alone and manages fine by herself, but she becomes too reliant when I'm around, I mean she won't even read signs. She would quite happily stand in wheelchair zone for a ride unless I tell her otherwise. Common sense went totally out the window in Disney.
I totally understand you, I used to nurse older patients and loads of times I found it a real struggle, it was hard to know if they were being truthful or not, as most of them were very forgetful.
I'm glad you're liking the instalments, they aren't writing themselves but I'm trying to keep the updates frequent.

angel*lady - That takes alot of courage to go back to school. That's what I have done but I have no children and I haven't been away that long. It's great that you have a supportive husband, it really does help. Steven has been great and helps alot...He gets in the Chinese when I can't be bothered cooking, LOL.
I graduate in summer 2010 unfortunately, but you can bet I am going to have a huge celebration when I do, Disney style.

pjstevens - Hey I am still laughing at my mom, she thinks nothing of it. There are no pics in the next instalment, but I promise there will be loads after that.

traceycooper - It is just a magical experience isn't it, I found it hard to put into words but I wrote how I felt at that precise moment, and that was it. Glad you're enjoying my report.

disneygirl24 - Woo hoo another MK Shoot convert, I'm so glad you are deciding to go for it. I think the experience is so worth it and I got some great shots, I'm sure you will too.

MUDisneyCouple - We do sound alot alike. I hope you all have a wonderful time in Disneyland, I havent been there since 2001 and although I didn't like Vegas too much at the time, it was too hot for one, but I now find myself aching to go back.
It's great that you love your job, I get bored really easily so I too need variation, your job sounds really interesting.

Bostonbride6292008 - You will love working with Randy, he's THE MAN, imo.

pixie08 - Thank you very much, I love my pictures too, hard to say but it's true. I am never a fan of the camera lens but I really enjoyed the whole experience.

disneydreamgirl05 - Don't you just love the lights on the castle, I think they are so romantic. I have lighting like that at home, I think it just sets the mood.

rebecca06261 - Okay, I get the hint:rotfl:

DisneyLaura - Yeah, I can't wait to go with children even Steven has agreed to go on certain rides when we have kids. I guess he doesn't want to appear a wuss in front of his kids:lmao:

Okay here we go...

First up sorry there aren't any pics here, this instalment is pretty much a review on Sci-Fi Dine-Inn, so we don't have any pics, but here goes anyway...

Day 7, Part 3

So we arrive in MGM pretty quickly, it’s probably about 10 minutes, if that from POFQ.

We all had our tickets at the ready and we had to go and get our bags checked, making sure we weren’t trying to smuggle in some French Toast or something!

We were waved through and we entered the turnstiles to access MGM.
We immediately found ourselves on Hollywood Boulevard and the first thing I noticed was of course, Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat. It was really cool, and one of the best centrepieces I had seen.

We planned to eat straight away at Sci-Fi Dine-Inn, we didn’t have a reservation and I hoped we could get a walk-in because of the early hour.
I looked at the map and noticed it was on Comissary Lane behind Drew Carey’s Sounds Dangerous. So we headed left and went around some attractions.

We found it easily enough and managed to get seated straight away. Our host took us to our stretch limo, that’s right we were back seat drivers to another family. No biggie, we were here to eat.

The atmosphere was great, I really felt like I was in a drive-in. However I would have preferred not to have been seated right at the back. We had a complete view of the kitchen and it kind of spoiled the moment. The lighting streamed through onto our tables so we didn’t get the full experience.
Our waiter was really friendly and handed us our menus and quickly took our drinks orders.

We all decided to go for the milkshakes. Steven chose Strawberry, my mom took Chocolate and I tried the Oreo Cookie Ice-Cream.

They were delivered in proper diner glasses and the contents were so thick I seriously had to let it sit for 5-10 minutes before the straw was of any use. It was beautiful though, the oreos were crumbled into the ice-cream and there were huge chunks of chocolate biscuit mixed with vanilla ice-cream, the texture was amazing. Mom and Steven really liked theirs but it was no comparison to my one, I definitely lucked out with my milkshake.

So we scanned the menu. I was really happy we had only come here for lunch. I had read pretty consistent reviews of this place, and they were consistently bad. However, I loved the look of the interior so I thought we would be safe to come here for lunch and use our spare TS Credit.

For appetizer Steven and I ordered the same ‘Crispy Onion Rings’ and mom ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Dip.

The ‘B Movies’ were showing, well clips of them anyway. Steven loved this as he is a fan of movies like that, as in laughable movies where special effects are now just awful.

We received our food and I was surprised at the size of the portions. We had at least 10 onion rings each and my mom’s appetizer had a huge plate of corn chips, I mean like a family size bag.

Okay, the Onion Rings were greasy, really wet and they weren’t the sort of onion rings I like either, I prefer the mushed kind of onion rings, y’know the ones where you bite into them and it’s all mushed. Instead these were just whole onion rings and what annoyed me most is that I would bite into it and the onion part itself was pretty hard so breaking a bit off was tough. This would resort in me pulling the onion, with my teeth, out of the casing, leaving the battered part empty and pointless.

They were huge, yes, but tasty, no. I regretted not getting the dip that my mom had as hers was really nice. Steven agreed that they were too greasy for him too; we ended up leaving about 12.

Mom’s dip was really nice, mild but with a bit of kick. There was no way she would have finished this on her own so Steven and I joined in to help her. It went so well with tortilla chips but we all struggled to finish this so we left about half.

Our Entrée’s arrived, mom had the ‘Smoked Turkey Sandwich’ Steven ordered ‘The Reuben’ and I played it safe and ordered the ‘Angus Chuck Burger’

Well I thought I played it safe…

My burger tasted as if it had been a frozen patty, certainly not fresh. It didn’t even taste like beef, I have no idea what it was but I know I didn’t like it. I had ordered swiss cheese and removed the bacon, but it just wasn’t working for me at all. I managed to eat about 4 bites and gave up and delved into my fries.

Steven unfortunately didn’t do any better. He hated his ‘Reuben’ I had no idea why he ordered it as I could have told him he wouldn’t like it. I didn’t think he would like rye bread. But his complaint was that the sandwich was really wet, he picked it up and it was literally dripping some clear thick fluid. Now I knew there was sauerkraut on it and I knew that wasn’t clear, so I still to this day don’t know what was dripping from that sandwich. I try not to think about it to much as it’s way to icky to even go there, but all I know is, Steven stopped eating there and then and delved into his own fries.

I offered him my burger and he gladly accepted it. He didn’t seem to have the same complaint as me, but agreed he had tasted a better burger at Mcdonalds.

My mom on the other hand really liked her ‘Smoked Turkey Sandwich’ It looked really nice but it had way too much stuff I didn’t like on it for me to have considered ordering it. Still at least she was happy with her order.

I was still hungry as I hadn’t eaten that much so I knew I was getting dessert.
I ordered the Cheesecake and mom ordered the Fresh Fruit Salad. Steven was being boring and ordered nothing.

Now the Cheesecake was beautiful, it was served with caramel sauce and M and M’s. It was so creamy and had that thick texture that I love in cheesecake, it was so nice that I didn’t even offer Steven a bit, hey he didn’t order one and he could have, he’d learn!

Mom’s Fruit Salad was just that, it seemed to be a nice mix of melon, berries etc. But as I’m not a huge fan of fruit salad, it looked pretty bland to me.

So, Sci-fi Dine-Inn. I’m sorry but the reviews were right, the atmosphere is great, but the food just isn’t worth it. It’s quite expensive too, $83.00, and had we not been on the DP we definitely wouldn’t have ordered 3 courses here. I certainly wouldn’t return again, I do think depending on what you order changes the experience, but the selection isn’t huge, so looking at the menu again. I can’t actually think of what else to order. MGM really lacks in the food dept imo, but for a TS, this place is really disappointing. The best thing here was the milkshake and cheesecake, can you do that, order dessert and a drink only? That may be the only reason to visit.

Coming up...

Around MGM, loads of pics, and I'm so bored I go on Tower of Terror.

For anyone that's interested Stan from STVS sent me a 1 minute intro to my wedding video. NOTE this is not the Sneak Peek. I specifically asked for a stylized edit, so this is why it isn't like ones you may have seen before.

You can access it here....

http://www.box.net/shared/static/17ytcjuyfu.wmv

Let me know what you think...

OMG Summer.....your intro is SO COOL......I wanna see the whole thing !!!!!

Give us more......Give us more.....Give us more !!!! :dance3: :dance3:

Thank you girls. Yup, I think Stan excelled himself this time. I was really doubtful using him initially, mainly because of the DVD demos he sent. they were all quite similar and not to my taste. I wanted something quite different.

We have used Truly, Deeply - Savage Garden for the intro
Ready to Fly - Richard Marx for the ceremony, i think
Unbelievable (Remix) for the Stylized (fast cut) retrospective.

I can't wait to see the rest.

Stan obviously understood me loud and clear.

we are worried about the money for stan but after seeing that small clip i really want o make sure we get him now!!! cant wait to see the rest

I'm back,

And I'm about caught up - I did read some sections quickly so I'll have to go back over them in more detail!

I can now officially not feel like an outsider in this section of the DISboards, that's right, we got engaged!

Anyway, I won't hijack your thread, just wanted to check back in!

V&A's sounds so lavish, it's a shame that I'm far too fussy a eater to enjoy somewhere like that.

Looking forward to more pixie dust.....
