Summer & Steven's Fairytale Wedding TR, 20th Aug SBP Baby Pics!!!

So that’s it, my big news explained, and you know what this means? More Disney vacations in the future; after all it’s only a 48 hr drive from Toronto…

First of all, here's an advance :welcome: to Canada!!! :goodvibes  :flower3: You will LOVE Toronto!

I live about 2 and a half hours south of Toronto, and we can get to Disney in 24 hours if we drive straight through!!

Thanks again for sharing your wonderful report!

Summer,

Thanks for sharing your MK photo shoot pics. They are beautiful :thumbsup2 . My favorites are silhouette shots and the "arch" shots. Paul did a great job!

Summer your MK shots are incredible! There is really something special about being in front of that castle all by yourself.

Congrats on planning on moving to Toronto, I'm sure you'll love it. I've yet to make it that far in Canada.

The photo's are amazing, sure beats my old black and white wedding photo's LOL. Seriously though you look beautiful and the setting just adds to it!

Summer - I agree with you, the castle does look more beautiful in the dark than in the morning light. I absolutely loved those pictures. All of them were great. It must be hard to pick and choose which ones are our favorites. Good news on the move to Canada, you are right you'll be closer to WDW. We are 23 hours away. I am in CT about 10-12 hours away from the Canadian border. Maybe in 2009 we'll see each other in WDW. I am going in Nov 2009 for Thanksgiving and then for the first week of December for the decorations. I can't wait.

The MK pictures were worth the wait. They are gorgeous. I think my fav is in front of Splash Mountain and when the sun was up over the castle. Absolutely gorgeous.

Your pictures are gorgeous! Thank you for sharing.

I am so hooked on the idea of a Disney wedding now........;)

We then moved on to the stage, that’s right, the stage. I was so excited to be on here. Paul got this shot of me, which I absolutely love. Light and shadow produced a ghostly image. Not really an ideal wedding shot, but undeniably clever use of photography:

Untitled-16.jpg

It was time to enter the Castle. I had viewed dozens of MK Shoot pics and the inside of the Castle just didn’t do it for me. However we did manage to get a couple of good shots in here, they were also experimental, experimental because I smiled:

Untitled-17.jpg

The "ghostly" picture belongs in front of The haunted mansion! Wouldn'tthat have been a perfect background!!! ;)

Why are "smiling" pictures experimental? Don't you like your smile? I think you are beautiful and have a great smile!!

Can't wait to hear more of the trip.:dance3:

Wow.

Your MK photos are breathtaking...I certainly hope that Paul is still there by the time I get to have my vow renewal!! The arch pictures really did take my breath away!

hi Summer!

well, I think the toughest part of your photograhs is picking which one goes where! I would look into some sort of wall slide show presentation frame so you can showcase all these beautiful shots on a rotating basis! I cannot even say that any one is my favorite - so many of them are a visual feast for the eyes...of course you know I will say that the ones with Steven smiling made me smile even more! hahaha, he looks simply radiant!

I am thrilled you are moving to Toronto - it is a wonderful city. And if JJ and I move upstate like we plan to, we would only be a couple of hours away - how awesome is that??!!

hoping your studies are going well, hope Morgan is feeling good ...looking forward to your next installment..

Michelle :cloud9:

Hi Summer,

Your photos are gorgeous you were a beautiful bride. You said you were picked up at 5am and finished your shoot at 7am do you mind me asking how you got a 2 hour shoot I was told all MK shoots were an hour? Also you have posted lots of photos, more than the 12 you are given in the package, are some of these the loose photos you are given or did you purchase the CD? Hope you dont mind me asking. X

Summer - you looked beautiful! I've never been a fan of the MK photo shoot pictures, and we didn't want to do the shoot ourselves, but I had to tell you that your pictures are wonderful!! Your photographer did an amazing job and I'm happy for you that you got the specific shots you wanted :)

B2B-2008 - Thank you, your wedding may seem a long time away just now, but believe me it will fly by.

Missy H - Thanks, I had a few problems early on in my trip but the rest of our Disney honeymoon was pretty much plain sailing. I do love my pictures and I never thought I would be saying that!

mla1977 - WOW, that sounds so like it could very well be a proposal to me. Do you think it may be a Christmas proposal? How exciting, I so hope it is. Hey, if you have any questions at all, feel free to ask. Steal as much as you like from my PJ and TR, after all that's what it's here for:banana:
So you live in Philly? I have always wanted to visit there too, I'm gonna have loads of places to stop in on my way to Orlando, I may never get there:rotfl:
BTW, Savannah is a beautiful name, it's definitely on my list...

oneyodafan - Thanks for the compliments. MK pics are a hit and miss I think, some I'm not fond of, of course I only posted my own particular favs.
This move is getting me excited, bring on Canada!!!

MUDisneyCouple - LOL, you really made me laugh when you told me you worked with the criminally insane, the way you worded it sounds hilarious, I mean how could anyone love that? I do know what you mean though!!
As for the move, yup, I'm always on the look out for the next big thing in my life, I'm much happier when I'm planning something, so I'm so looking forward to going to Canada, I really can't wait.

Wendy - So glad you had a wonderful anniversary, it sounded really special.
Now that you mention wedding planning, I have planned events in the past, in fact I originally looked into having my own wedding planning business, but it's just not big business here in Scotland. I have planned huge Christmas events, and I mean huge, also planned other weddings and parties. I used to work in the hotel industry abroad, so learned alot about event planning.
When you want to do a VR, give me a holler if you want, I think you can tell I'm a perfectionist by now...

angel*lady - So you are studying to eh? I feel for you, I really do:hug: What are you studying?
Thanks for the comments on my MK shoot, I highly recommend it to anyone, even if it is just for the experience.

Hayley - Go ahead and save what you want from my TR, it doesn't bother me at all, I hope this TR helps future brides.
I know what you mean about falling in love with Florida, I mean if I could have legally stayed there, I would have done it in a heartbeat. Steven even said the same. The fact we are now moving to Canada though, well, I can fit in trips to the World quite often I think, at least once a year:woohoo:
You will love V & A, especially as you love seafood and chocolate, although not together, hmmm, maybe that could be a suggestion?

Ipizzuro123 - LOL, Paul is gonna love me, although I did tell him I would be putting my pics up online for all to see. The MK Shoot is so worth it, even now that it has gone up in price. Even Steven agrees and I'm pretty surprised, he said he would have paid much more!

WETWHISTLE - Thanks for the compliments, glad you're enjoying my TR.

Wazzo - Thanks for the advance welcome, I am sure I will love Toronto. HA, I told Steven we could drive straight through from Toronto and he didn't look to impressed, I guess it means cause I could say on a whim, let's spend the long weekend at Disney, LOL.

BaBeeCee14 - My favourites are the same as yours, I love all that I posted, but I love them even more, they are so magical, the perfect fairytale shot.

D&R love Disney - Thanks, the castle really is magical in the dark, truly special. I can't wait to move to Toronto, my ticker says it's so far away but I know it will fly by.

Rain - Thank you, I love BW photography, some of my favourite pics are in black and white, including my siggie pic.

DisneyLaura - I so want to do Christmas at WDW and Steven said last night if we get more from the sale of the house we may just manage to squeeze in a trip next Christmas to WDW, WOO HOO! Well then and 2009, 2010, 2011...

HarbinsMom - We were so tired by the Spalsh Mountain pic, Steven doesn't like it but I thought I had to post it. I am so happy we did the MK Shoot, when we do our VR, I will definitely schedule another MK Shoot. Although, god knows how much it will be by then:eek:

Lisella - Thanks for reading this TR, I know it's pretty long, glad to see we have another convert...

DisneyObsession - You are so right, in front of the Haunted Mansion would have been great, although I do love the arch in the background.
I don't smile in pics as a rule, neither does Steven. I personally, if somewhat vainly, think I look better when I don't smile. I think I look fat when I smile kinda like a chipmunk although not as cute;) and I know I'm still overweight so I guess I'm still camera concious. So you will notice that most of my pics have no smile in them, doesn't mean and I'm not having a great time though. Thanks for the compliments though, I promise to smile more in my pictures in the future:rolleyes:

scarlett873 - Hey, I'm hoping Paul will still be there by our VR so I know what you mean. I do love my pics though, it helps when you have an acommodating photgrapher.

Michelle - I will have to tell Steven that you thinks he looks radiant, I'm sure there will be much laughter with that one. I am struggling to pick my favourites too, there are so many differnet ones, I just can't decided. When we move to Toronto I want a few on canvas so I guess I still have some time to decide.
How cool that you will only be a couple of hours away. I can't wait to move, I'll be so close to most of you then, over here I feel so far away:sad2:
Morgan seems to be doing well, it's seems like some sort of freak occurence, I still do not know fully what happened, but he seems just as goos as he ever did. Thanks for asking, i think it was all the positive thoughts he got:hug:

prince&princess - MK Shoots are supposed to be only an hour, but as we had the early slot and there were no other brides scheduled that morning he managed to give us extra time. Plus as I said, he is quite fond of breaking the rules and he told us straight away that he was going to give us extra time. We certainly weren't complaining.
I didn't purchase the CD, we were given the CD. As an overseas bride we get the CD included, it sux for all US Brides, I know. We received over 113 MK Shoot Pictures on the CD and we received 12 in the album and 2 8 x 10's.

Jen - Awww, thanks. At first I wasn't sure about the MK Shoot but I'm so glad I did it. I know some people haven't had the best experience with the shoot so I was pretty nervous. We were lucky that I got my requested photographer, he was so accommodating and friendly, a definite gem. And yes I am so lucky he was willing to get those specific shots for me, I am eternally grateful.

Well, I am currently working on my next instalment and I'm quite glad all my wedding pics are over and done with, you know it takes so long to upload and resize all the pics, hence so much delay in my TR. So because of that, I'm hoping that I can put more up on my TR today or tomorrow at the latest.

MGM, here we come...

mla1977 - WOW, that sounds so like it could very well be a proposal to me. Do you think it may be a Christmas proposal? How exciting, I so hope it is. Hey, if you have any questions at all, feel free to ask. Steal as much as you like from my PJ and TR, after all that's what it's here for:banana:  ...

That's what is sounds like to me. Yeah another PJ and TR I get to read.

DisneyLaura - I so want to do Christmas at WDW and Steven said last night if we get more from the sale of the house we may just manage to squeeze in a trip next Christmas to WDW, WOO HOO! Well then and 2009, 2010, 2011......

You get to every year, I wish DH would go every year. He is not as obsessed with Disney as I am. He's happy to go every 5 years. I would go every year. Maybe when the kids get older I will just go with them by myself. When they are little I need the help. There's three of them and I only have two hands.

DisneyLaura - Well Steven said if I actually complete my Law Degree we will go where ever I want, he also agreed to a VR in Disney at some point in the future. I always bargain, it's more fun.
I would imagine Disney would be alot of fun with children, that is one of the pros of having children, surely? A good excuse to go, teach them well, he can't exactly fight the 4 of you:rotfl:

Day 7, Part 2

We woke up at 9.00am, yes it was still quite early considering the lack of sleep, but we were in Disney and I couldn’t justify sleeping in too much.
The plan had been to go to Boatwrights at 10am but I knew that even if I hurried to get ready there would be no way we could make our reservation. So I decided to skip it and eat at MGM.

The plan was to go to MGM for 4 hours or so, and maybe come back for another nap before we got ready for The P & P Party and headed to Kona for dinner. Steven seemed pretty eager to visit MGM, so I just hoped we would both be awake enough to enjoy it.

I jumped in the shower again as I felt kind of icky after the MK Shoot and I quickly dressed. I redid my make-up and chose to wear my combat trousers, top and of course my bridal ears and badge. I reminded Steven that he had to wear his or there would be consequences…

Steven was showered and dressed pretty quickly so we headed down to see mom. It was almost 10.30 so I at least knew she would have managed to get a good sleep.

She was wide awake and ready to go, I told her that we would just stop and have an early lunch at MGM, I suspected we would try Sci-Fi Dine-Inn as I knew how much Steven wanted to go there.
We told mom all about the MK Shoot and she seemed pretty impressed, although she was more impressed that Steven had managed to get me in my wedding dress!

After explaining V & A in great detail to her, she agreed that it wouldn’t have been her scene, so I think she was pretty glad that she didn’t go. I asked her if she managed to get anything to eat while we were out.

She did, but of course this was served with a side of major drama…

She got lost, yup, that’s right, lost. Now she was in building number 5, and for those of you that don’t know POFQ, this is just across the road from the main area (lobby) literally 2 minutes. She couldn’t remember her room number and she thought she would just go by sight, i.e. remember the look of her door, umm, mom, they all look the same. She thought she was on the second floor, even though she was on the first and I don’t know how many times I told her that her room number reflects her building and floor. She was 5139, 5 building, 1st floor.

Did any of this ever register? Nope! Now here is the killer, do any of you have any idea how long she spent looking for her room? 10 minutes, 20 am I hearing 30?

Try 60 minutes and you’ve got it, no really you have! She walked around the grounds of POFQ for 1 whole hour before finally relenting and heading to the check-in area. I’m totally surprised she managed to find that!

Now I don’t know about you but I would have been pretty embarrassed to admit that I had no idea where my room was, can you imagine what she would have been like it was CBR? She probably would have ended up in Epcot!
Apparently the CM drew her a map and told her where to go, I bet;)

Anyway, she got back to the room eventually but by that time it was near 9pm and she was tired so ended up going to bed. She had managed to get Chicken Strips and Salad from Sassagoula Floatworks, she still hadn’t been that hungry as the lunch at Citricos was pretty filling.

We walked on to the bus stop and were lucky, as the bus to MGM was just pulling up.

Although it was only 11.00am it was already very humid, I should have known it was going to be like that after the shoot, my hair was already curling and my trousers felt like gloves.

The air conditioning in the bus was a welcome relief so we quietly enjoyed the journey. Several people wished us Congratulations and it was nice that even without the wedding dress on, it was still getting acknowledged.
Little did we know how much it would get acknowledged throughout the day…

60- minutes?!? I'm surprised she lasted that long looking for her room. :confused3 Well, at least she found it!

Sounds like you are in for LOTS of :wizard: on your honeymoon. Can't wait to hear about it!!!

I'm starting to feel bad for mom.... :headache: Is she this incapable normally, or just at Disney?? My mom is a bit younger (I think, I'm guessing here), but she'll play the helpless card and it drives me INSANE. I know my mom can comprehend things that she chooses not to! Conversly, DF's Grandmother is completely incapable and she genuinely doesn't understand. She requires a lot of attention and care. Luckily, she's staying with a life long friend of hers right now while DF's parents are out of town. Last time she stayed with us and claimed that we never fed her!!!!!! :scared1: :confused3 The house was loaded with food, but she was uncomfortabe in the unfarmiliar conditions so she would never make anything for her self. Keep in mind the house we live in used to be hers, she lived there for 30 years. DF and I work full time + extra hours, plus I'm in school 3 nights a week for 4 hours a night, plus planning the wedding. I felt really bad, but I never said that I could just stay home for a week to sit with and "watch" her. It was a frustrating situation b/c I'm sad that she's as far gone as she is, but frustrated that no one really "asked" and assumed that we could give her the time and attention she requires. BTW... she did not starve and we fed her constantly. It just wansn't always what she wanted  We didn't neglect her!!! For the record. Eeeeek, now I sound guilty.

Anyhow Summer, sorry for the long detour. You story was amazing. You descriptions of V & A's were amazing. I can't wait for a chance to eat there now. And you evening pictures and MK pictures were soooo beautiful. I'm not doing the MK photo shoot, but your pictures would be a strong argument for the shoot. I LOOOOOVE Cinderella's Fountain (that's were DF proposed too!) and the shots you got there are amazing. I love how you photographer played with the focus. And you really can't tell how tired you guys must have felt. Once again Summer, everything is AMAZING :goodvibes :wizard: :cheer2:

Hi Summer!

A new installment is on it's way?! Oh goodie! :yay:

As far as your school question ... I have actually gone back to school (after a VERY LONG time!) to finally finish my bachelor's degree. I am working on a BS in Management and International Studies. I am excited to finally be finishing but it is a challenge balancing full time work, full time school and family. Fortunately my kids are older and my husband is extremely supportive. I plan to be finished in May 2009. When will you be done with your law degree? If it is 2009 as well, we should have a big graduation celebration Disney style! :cheer2: Looks like Disney Laura will be there as well!

Well - I'd better get back to studying or I won't be hitting that 2009 goal! :rotfl:

Looking forward to the next installment! :surfweb:

I am sitting here laughing at your mom, your poor mom, lost at PO. I can imagine what the cm was thinking drawing that map. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip. I am enjoying your wedding and all the photos (feels like I was there).
