Summer promotion-Does this sound right?

All right! I already had an existing reservation booked at POP w/preferred room for June 29-July 6 with MYW plus Dining. I called to apply the new summer promotion of 25% off, and was told that it saved me about $160, but that just doesn't sound right. Am I doing the math wrong? I called back to double check it, and was told that the $160 is right, but I could downgrade to a Standard room if I wanted to save more. Maybe I have the wrong info. about how much the room actually cost in the first place.

Rack rate is $996, so 25% off of that is $250.

Did you have a slightly discounted rate already?

I didn't have any discount to begin with. I told them the discount I came up with was in the $250 range and they ran it through the system as a room only to see if there was any difference and still the same! I'm not sure what's going on. I'm thinking about calling them again!

Doesn't sound right to me because we've been checking into the same thing (Pop, preferred room) ourselves. We were quoted a better discount. I'd call back. I've learned the hard way to trust my gut and call back if a CM doesn't give me info that sounds right. Hopefully, you'll get ahold of one that can give you accurate info.

Try going through the online system using the discount link from the special offers page. Make sure you put in all the pass options and add-ons and see what number you get. They should get the same number on the phone as you get with the online system.

Are they including the trip insurance in your totals? That may account for some of the difference. If you didn't have it before and they added it to your reservation that would make the "discount" less.

I'm pretty sure the weekend of the 4th (3rd, 4th & 5th) are blackout dates for the discount so that could be why your not seeing as much of a savings.

I didn't think about the blackout dates.

I bet that is why. Good detective work Gottalovedisney! :thumbsup2

I bet that IS why it's less. Totally makes sense! You would think they would have told me that when I said I was staying over the 4th! I looked for blackout dates but not seeing them.

The WDW website states that the July 4th holiday dates are July 2,3,& 4. Just thought I would clarify that for anyone else staying those dates- they are probably the ones that are blacked out. Thanks for the advice!

That Happened to me, so I called back and they told me that you dont get a discount on the Tax.

:headache:
