Summer? hard to book 7 mos out?

before we purchase the points at AKV I would like to know if you all could helpme out....we would almost always visit in the summer, (if we go easter or christmas we would just stay at AKV) would we be able to try out most of the other resorts I love change so I was just curious before we take the dive....I think my list of questions for our guide is quite long so if you all could help that would be great!!!!

One piece of data -

I just looked at option for August - at the 4 month mark.

BWV-standard view - completely gone
BCV - almost complete gone
BWV-boardwalk view - limited availability, but I was able to fine something that worked
BWV-preferred view - open
OKW - completely open

We've booked both BWV (standard view) and OKW at 7 months out for August in the past without a problem.

wow thanks!!!! that really helps we always go end of june , july or august and would most likely be booking in advance (when you are allowed) that would mean we could try out most of them! I really appreciate your fact finding!!

I booked a little over 4 months out this year and had my choice of the exact dates I wanted, sun-thur 6/22-6/27 at OKW, SSR and maybe WL. We could have also gotten spare days here/there at BWV. I think when AKV is all built out, it will be like OKW (fairly easy to book in summer) b/c it will be about the same size.
Also, summer is spread out over 12 weeks vs. Christmas, EAster, Thanksgiving, so you should have a few options, esp. if you are booking close to 7 mths out.

Last year we booked in March for a trip in late August - 5 months out. At one point we had a choice of BWV, SSR, VWL and OKW for the dates we wanted. We went with BWV. We ended up having to switch our travel dates a few weeks after our original booking and BWV and VWL weren't available for the new dates. We ended up with a split stay between SSR and AKV.
