Coming from Montana where there is frost on the ground in the mornings.

All summer clothes are long gone in the stores up here.

Wondeing if Target or other stores in Aneheim will still have summer clothes out since there is nice weather year round in CA?

They did have summer clothes when we were there 2 weeks ago! We live in Washington and the ones around here have all clearanced out theirs, so I am assuming summerish things must be a year round deal in CA. If you want to be able to have things already ready to go though, I have found thrift stores to be incredibly helpful! They seem to also carry a selection of all seasons of clothing year round, and once you wash it, it's pretty much as good as new any way for a WAY cheaper price! :thumbsup2

I was looking for summer clothes a few weeks ago and found hardly anything, and that was in California where it was still 90 degrees! :( Do you have time to look online? You may be able to find a few things in the stores, but it will be hit or miss.

Do you have JC penney there? I went to the one in Indiana and they had a ton of kids shorts and tanks on sale for $1 and $2.

My experience with Target is that all stores have the same things at the same time. When I tried to find a bathing suit in San Diego in September, they had absolutely none. And said that they carry the same stock everywhere, and that's generally about a season or half season ahead of the actual season.

Now you might find some on clearance, but there's no guarantee.

If you have time to shop online, you might want to give Landsend.com a look. They have lots of nice basics at good prices -- check for the summer items in the clearance section.

Well, just because we are in CA doesn't mean it doesn't get cold. No, we may not have frost on the ground (some areas do) but it still gets cold and during December/January it does freeze where I am, almost every night actually. lol I know people assume that it stays warm here all year but it really doesn't, not even in So Cal, it gets cold there too. Not as cold as here but it gets cold. Our Target doesn't have summer clothes left, only a few things here and there on clearance. You may get lucky and find some things but it will be a gamble. It might be best to look online.
Good luck!! :)

We were there for two weeks in September and every dept store we went into was filled with winter gear! Even Costco had woollen overcoats! And the temps were in the 90-100's. I was majorly bummed - no summer clothes shopping other then a few things for the kids on the discounted racks.

Very true. I was in DL the first halfish of November 2010 and spent the whole time, days and nights, in jeans and a long sleeved shirt, if not a thick hoodie. And a lot of the time, I was still a bit chilly.

I agree with both of you ladies! Yes, we don't get the same kind of crazy, severe weather that people get in other states, but I was wearing 3 sweaters and 2 pairs of pants last year when it dropped down to 33 degrees at night in December - and anyone who knows me knows that I long for the chilly days to get here because I hate the heat!

There are some occasions when we have weird 100+ degree days in October or 90-degree days in December. This year is supposed to be an El Nino year, however, and if history repeats it will mean lots and lots and lots of messy rain!

Right now a lot of the department stores have pulled out the sweaters and coats and things like that, even though it's been warm overall. Yesterday it was 68 degrees in L.A., and today is supposed to be about 72 degrees. In a few days, though, it will be back up to 92.
