Well, it's here, the last day.
We all woke up and continued the packing process. I find the separating the store with bell services stuff, the carry around with us stuff, the airplane carry-on stuff, is a lot of decisions to make. While I made these final decisions Chris went to the gym. The kids played in and out of the room through the patio door. This was a perk of being on the first floor.

By the time I was done and Chris was back it was almost time for our O'hana breakfast. We also wanted to check out the hula dancing lessons going on in the Great Ceremonial House. It took awhile to track down the dancing (downstairs, lagoon side of the building) Chris watched the kids there while I checked in at O'hana's. Kaleigh was a little shy to dance, maybe if they had the lesson at 600 feet? Ohana's was a nice way to say good-bye to some good friends. We saw Mickey, Goofy, and of course, Chip and Dale (anyone else notice that they are everywhere?) The kids got to march in the parade around the restaurant and we got some good pictures.
After that it was time for our one last swim. Into our suits and into the pool. Funny, the pool is really empty right around noon. Wonder where everyone is? Never mind, don't tell me, I know.
I'm not sure how we got the kids out of the pool that day, but we made it back to the room in just enough time to shower and change by our 1 o'clock check out. After that we went to the lounge and relaxed there for awhile. Of course Kaleigh had sugar cookies and Tyler served himself lemonade and I looked out the window admiring the view. Yes, this is, in the middle of the Magic.
We decided to go to The Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch. It was a good call because it got us out doing something rather than moping around the Polynesian, but it wasn't that far of a trip. It was a nice idea to ride the monorail and the atmosphere at the GF was calm and soothing. We had a lovely lunch and the monorailed back around the loop to the Polynesian.
We came back in the Great Ceremonial House and in the children's area they were making leis. This was a nice activity to for the kids to do while we waited for the van.
The same young man from Tiffany Town Car who had brought us, arrived right on time. Loaded us up and away we went. After we were picked up, we had to go and pick up my friends at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. As we drove up to the security booth, the man asked if we were checking in. Oh, how I wish. We traded stories with my friends all the way to the airport.

And then as my husband said, "fastpass back to reality."

So now we are home with a whole new set of memories. It's been said before, the best way to keep your spirits up when it's time to leave is to think about returning. Of course it also helps to think about the experiences you've had and the memories you've made. I think about the new things we did this trip and the old favorites we like to revisit each year. I make mental note and marvel that there are still so many thing that we have yet to do. I try to assess how well we did balancing relaxation and activities. I also think about how much I've eaten. That's mostly because my airplane outfit seems much tighter.
And yes I will go back over and over, because Disney World is whatever you could want it to be, you are only limited by how you choose to experience it.

See you in Disney World!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful trip with us! I read it all the way through and felt like I was there! So glad you had such a magical time!

I really enjoyed your report. I will be celebrating my birthday there, too. However, the part I'm looking forward to the most, especially after reading your report, is the moment my dd(5) lays her eyes on Cinderella. She absolutely adores her and this is her first trip.

Thanks for the great report. I enjoyed reading it all the way through and it helped me re-live the memories from when we were there in early and mid October. It is always a sad venture home but, as you said, the memories you make are priceless and to know that you have more to make when you go back is a great feeling!

Ok, your trip report is making me change my plans. We had decided to save money & stay at POR again this time (there are 5 of us). After reading your trip report, I think I'll try to stay at least the last 3 nights at the Poly. I love the idea of watching fireworks & water parade in jammies!!!

It's funny, with little ones, we probably wouldn't have seen the fireworks any other way. ***And seeing them in your jammies makes you feel like they are just for YOU!

Ok, we ended up booking the whole week at Poly. Thanks for such a great trip report. You inspired us to change our reservations. The year we stayed in WL was so relaxing because we could watch fireworks from our room each night. I love not having to deal with crowds for fireworks. Now that we are staying at monorail resort, it will be so much easier to come back for breaks, etc. Thanks again!!!
