For those like me who own 100 shirts, bring 20 shirts but really like to wear just 5 of those shirts. Off to the laundry room we go. It is clean with many machines and my clothes were dry in just one dryer cycle! I brought from home small boxes of detergent, a stack of dryer sheets and a small Shout squeeze, scrubber bottle, all in one handy plastic bag. There is a machine that sells the detergent and dryer sheets and a change machine. I think it was $2 a was and $2 a dry. Getting to wear those favorite five shirts....priceless.
While the laundry was going the kids and I enjoyed the quiet pool. I enjoyed it because it is deeper and I got to stretch out my legs in the water, for some reason in the volcano pool I always end up scrunched up in the shallow end. Wait, I know why, my oldest is only 4 feet tall, duh. Lots of chairs available here. Also there are these nice little tables under individual little hut-like roofs. I kept wondering if room service would bring you dinner there and how lovely that could be.
While the kids and I swam and Chris was at the Gym, Mickey came to our room and left a surprise for the kids. We have breakfast at the castle in the morning and this is the first time we have not brought our daughter her Cinderella dress. So Mickey left her a crown that lights up. Also, my son had outgrown his favorite Buzzlightyear Space ranger Spin Tank Top. Mickey left him a new larger one. If you see Mickey, thank him for us.
Later back at the room, Kaleigh was suffering from what I believe to be chlorine reaction. Earlier in the week I had thought it was the sunscreen. But then, and still now I started to suspect it was the chlorine. We had to keep rinsing and patting her face with water because it was stinging. After this we tried to limit her pool time, not so easy, and also rinsed her well in the shower after swimming. This did help.
We grabbed a bite at Captain Cook's and moved from an inside to an outside table. After being in the heat, sometimes the AC is just too cold, especially for my sensitive daughter. Here I again abandoned my family to meet my friend and her daughter at Pleasure Island.
Really not so much Pleasure Island as the Adventurers Club. This is a big favorite of mine. If you haven't been there go. If you've been, go and stay longer. I had assured my friend that it would be not in bad taste for her fairly mature 14 year old. It was a great night. My friend and her daughter loved it! While some of the humor is a little suggestive, it's not lewd. We were so comfortable there I lost track of how many shows we stayed for...but not of how many Kongaloosh drinks I had (2) it is my birthday at midnight you know. We finally did make it out to see the fireworks and the last show at the Comedy Club. Funny, but not Adventurer's Club funny.
It was time to call it a night and drag my weary 37 year old self back to Paradise I mean Polynesian to bed. I have a birthday to celebrate tomorrow, or later today...
