Summer at Hilton Head.......help!

We would like to go to HH next summer (July or August).....but we don't own there and would like a 1 bed for 2 weeks. Is there any hope of us being able to get this at the 7 month window in your experience?!!!!

Also, what is the weather like in the summer? Is it as humid as Florida? What about the rain? Just thunder storms or full days of rain??

I can't help with the one bedroom question b/c we don't stay DVC there. The weather is hot especially in July and August. Usually there is a warm breeze especially on the beach. It's very humid but what part of the south isn't. We always go for a week in June and a week in August and it's nice. Last week we had thunderstorms in the evenings and late night. It was actually a little cooler then normal last week. It's a great place to vacation at. My family has been going for at least ten years there and have never been disappointed.

I wouldn't count on being able to get a 1BR for that length of time at 7 months. It MIGHT be able to be done, but I think you should come up with a "Plan B".

There are relatively few 1BRs at HH, lots more 2BRs. If you're willing to spend more points, your chances will probably be much better.

There are not that many 1 BR units and summer is tough for ressies anyway. I think you have little luck with the full 2 weeks idea. You might see what you can get and get on the wait list. Also try for an exchange into Marriott's Barony or Grande Ocean through DVC and/or privately.
