42°14'26.2"N 8°43'14.6"W is Vigo, Spain
43°22'14.6"N 8°23'45.1"W is A Coruña, Spain
the two coordinates left over get me to a village close to Canterbury it seems. Rural Kent. That does not make sense...

But I guess it is a northern Spain cruise from the UK they are hyping with this post.

I saw someone post that the coordinates listed above are not in order, and they match Vigo, Spain; A Coruna, Spain; Bruges, Belgium; La Rochelle, France; and Bilbao, Spain.
🤷‍♀️

Ugh, I just realized that I should have opened up the screen shot picture. I only had 8 lines of coordinates to work with, but it is 10. That explains why the last ones didn't match... But it's bedtime here in Europe, so someone else can verify and I guess @gilsan has the correct info.

Oh, interesting! The 4-night cruises to Bilbao and La Rochelle this year were really popular, I wonder if they could be expanding the line-up for those shorter sailings.

That's about 10 miles from Dover so possible either a tease of mis-typed.
Kinda hints that the Magic will be back in Europe for 2024 as I don't believe the Dream can fit in there. This summer the Dream is operating out of Southampton.

Looking at this year it seems that most of the European cruises have staterooms available in the 4 main categories. I have also read elsewhere that they haven't sold as well as expected for a variety of reasons, cost, inflations, Ukraine etc. If true, it would make sense to bring the Magic back.
Time will tell.

The port schedule for Bruges specifically lists the Dream so I don’t think the Magic is coming back to Europe.

The sailings haven’t sold great this year because the prices were insane. For an inside room on the same cruise 2022-2023 (Fjords) there was a 50% increase.

The *GT rates are a lot lower than opening day prices on most itineraries.

The price changes 22/23 werent on all cruises over the Summer and mostly if the cruise moved from a non UK Summer holiday time to a UK Summer holiday time. Some were even cheaper... (some of the Med ones) What bothered me more about this year were the change in ports for the Northern European part of the Summer: the actual ports are not the most exciting ones anymore and the routes sometimes boring (1 exciting port combined with 3 boring ones) From what I understood some of the fun ports can't accommodate ships the size of the Dream and/or don't allow the Dream for the pollution standards...

The fjords on in September was initially about 50% extra of what I paid last year for the same cruise on the same week.

Are the opening day prices always lower, excluding guaranteed with restrictions. (Is that GY?) we want to book with the best prices and of course with children in tow, we prefer being able to cancel in case anything happens because with young babies you just never know…

for a 7a that was def not the case if you compare opening day prices.

Opening day platinum for this year without any discounts was just over 5000 USD (we ended up switching cruises to the TA though cause the September fjords itinerary is not our cup of tea this year) and last year it was accordingly the sheets here available on disboard 5213 usd once gold could book. Because of the sheet of last year we were expecting it to be somewhere between 6k and 7k so it feel like a great deal until we realised how little fjord there is in that particular September itineray this year.

not always, mus majority of the time. As long as you are outside the penalty period you can have fares adjusted to current prices. a GTY would require you to cancel and rebook

For an inside it was about 50% more which is what I said earlier in the thread. I know the Dream has fewer inside rooms but that doesn’t mean put a 50% up charge on them (and then they don’t sell anyway.)

I didn’t love the itinerary this year either so ended up booking something else.

DCL offers two types of guaranteed bookings : GTY and IGT/OGT/VGT. The first one is not a discounted rate and has no restrictions. It also guarantees a minimum category - for example a 5B GTY will get you a 5B verandah stateroom or better - and is offered per category when that category is filled to a significant percentage, to allow life boat capacity management. A category can therefore switch to GTY on opening day.

A *GT rate is a discounted and non-refundable rate offered to fill the last remaining staterooms on the ship or if DCL finds a particular cruise isn‘t selling well enough. Most often, *GT rates are released after most cruisers have to pay their cruise in full, and once DCL knows who has confirmed their vacation. You only pick a type of room and not a minimum category. A VGT rate will therefore get you any type of verandah room.

The Dream Class ships have always priced the insides higher. I guess because of the virtue porthole. That’s why none of my cruises on this class were ever in an inside stateroom while we regularly book them on the Magic class. So, I think it might be more of a result of applying that pricing structure.

I made a mistake. I oversaw two coordinates. So, it’s La Rochelle and Bruges as mentioned above.
