summer 2005 dates

I booked the 4-day for next July on the Wonder, and was told that I can move my deposit over to the Magic if I wish once they decide what they're doing with her. Or I can cancel it entirely (like that's going to happen!).

Everytime I receive an e-mail notification on this thread, I get so excited but no announcement yet.:(

I wonder how this announcement will be made. Will we know and simply cannot miss it? Will we hear about it here first or elsewhere? What do you guys think?

The rumor continues to be that the summer 2005 Disney Magic itineraries will be announced at the Disneyland press event on May 5. If that turns out to be true, then the news will almost certainly be that the Disney Magic will "visit Disneyland" to celebrate Disneyland's 50th anniversary in 2005. I can't imagine that DCL would use a Disneyland event to announce cruises that have nothing to do with Disneyland.

If DCL's plans had simply been to add some new itineraries out of Port Canaveral, I believe they would have announced such plans at Seatrade, the cruise ship industry trade show, that was held in Miami earlier this month (March 15-18).

Of course, there's still a possibility that DCL will announce new itineraries out of Port Canaveral, with that announcement coming before or after May 5. (But I wouldn't bet on it.)

Here's 2 more cents:

- Last time I spoke with DCL (Monday) the rep there told me they wouldn't know until June or July what the Magic would be doing for next year.

- I know someone at Disney corporate who's had some involvement in the planning for Disneyland's 50th. When I mentioned the rumors of the Magic going to CA the response was "I haven't heard anything about that". Now that doesn't mean it's not moving there, jut that my source doesn't know anything about it.

Amberle3,

When I was onboard last month, and tried to book for summer 2005, I was told that the dates won't be available until "the summer" one year in advance. This somewhat goes along with what you were told. However 1 year in advance would actually be in May, which goes back to the May 5th theory.

AnnaS,

I do the same thing when I get an email announcement!

Rae,

I might just have to take part of the day off work to sit by the phone! :teeth:

At the rate that all this is taking, I might wait until 2006 to celebrate my 50th!!!!! LOL!!!!!

Im with you Verandah Man!
I gave up on celebrating my 10th anniversary(July 05) on DCL. We moved the cruise up to Oct 05 which makes it cheaper anyway. The stress from waiting and not knowing was killing me! ;)

I have noticed another thread saying DCL have updated there website and now the rates and dates says TBA against the months in question.

Looking back in the past most updates for changes have been early May. When the Western cruise was annouced it was Early May 2001, and the special Summer 2004 Cruises was May 2003.

The website update might just be a bit of tiding up, as recently they were showing all cruises from Jan>March 04 and they had all passed.

Lets hope they make a decision soon.

Where would you see it first,

DCL website, Calling them? Travel agents?

Sorry to update myself, but I find it very interesting that the TBA is under the section,, ''SEVEN DAY CARRIBEAN CRUISES BOTH EAST AND WEST'', of course they might not want to be giving the game away, but they have a section already under 'special cruises' you would have thought they would post TBA under that if they were going away from the carribean.

If you can read anything from the update, it would imply a new Eastern /Western 7 DAY cruise still from PC.

On one of the other DCL discussion sites they have a DCL support staff member who is going to try to get some more information today about the DCL Web site updates.

It is now showing as TBA under dates and rates for SEVEN DAY CARRIBEAN CRUISES, usually if they have a different sellection of stops they highlight the date in red and then you go to a link.

It would imply at this time that The Magic would stay in the Carribean from this update but would change routes, both Eastern and Western, say more of Mexico or Belize? And St Juan or even Jamica the other way?

Hasn't the special 10 cruises been on the website for a while? It must be for the 10 day 2004 Christmas cruise. I think they still have availability - it is on the DVC website. I don't follow where the TBA section/site is. I do hope we hear something by May though, especially for a cruise - many people plan this a little more in advance than a regular vacation.

I just went to Disneyland.com to see what it would cost for us to go this year. Since no 2005 dates are open. When you get to the price of your package.

It says LAND ONLY! Did not use to say that.

I am planning on saving what I can and if they annouce that there are cruises out of Disneyland in 05 then we are going. I want to go for the 50th anniversary anyways. So either way we are going to Disneyland next year. And 2006 will be our first cruise unless they are at Disneyland next year.

I emailed DCL about dates after May 7 and was told they were looking at "changing itineraries." Which made me think different ports, etc. So we booked for May 7th.

It says LAND ONLY! Did not use to say that

Disneyland does off Land and Sand packages. It may just be referring to that.

I wish they would just make the announcemnt.

LostGirls - We're going May 7th also!! We're booked in cabin 2108. I have two DD's that will be 12 & 10 years old.

Maybe the land and sand package is a AAA exclusive...but I thought I had heard of it elsewhere too.

They have been upgrading the DCL website over the past few weeks, firstly a new screen for booking which covers most things, party size the type of cruise etc, rather than going through about 3/4 different sellections.

Under dates, rates, etc, if you sellect 7 DAY CARRIBEAN cruises it was updated this week, and MAY>AUGUST 2005 is now included with TBA against the months, no specific dates showing.

Their are different sellections such as 10 day cruises, but this only currently refers to the Christmas 2004 cruise.

The Wonder iterieries are on a different sellection.

Additionally the Summer 2004 cruises with different posts are under 'Special Cruises' however they are also highlighted in red on the 7 day carribean list and, a special link takes you back to the Special cruise page.

Now if you can read anything into this it is;-

Their plans are well advanced and the website is being prepared for an update.

The mention of TBA also implies and annocement soon.

As the TBA is under SEVEN DAY CARRIBEAN cruises, I still personally swing to the view the MAGIC will stay in the Carribean with new trips and not going elesewhere, but I could be wrong!

Tera,
My girls will be 7 and 3. I have no idea how they will be able to wait that long!!!! Will this be your first DC?

LG - Yes, this is our first cruise and I think I'm more excited than the girls, for now ;) How about you? I assume you guys will be flying in the night before from seeing your location? I haven't decided where we'll stay yet, but have 13 months to figure it out:teeth: I can't wait:Pinkbounc
