summer 1/2 over - what else do you want to do this summer?

camping will be later in Aug
want a few more beach days, maybe an amusement park
next wknd is ME wknd - boys going to Cape

Aug has 3 doc apts - 1 for DS (needs shot to go to 7th grd), Im having an ultrasound and we both have dentist apts

our school summer vaca just happened this past wed - dont want the summer over yet

what else do you have planned this summer?

Summer is over for me. I go back to school on Monday, and the students will be back on Friday!

When I think about it....we have a lot to do before school starts

DS12 has a Boy Scout Backpacking trip
a family wedding
a trip to the beach
DS12 & DS9 have a couple of Soap Box Derby races coming up
some Dr Appts
and the usual music lessons and scout meetings

We will be busy until August 30th (1st day of school)

Summer is over for us, too. I start back on Tuesday and the kids come back Friday. I really don't like this schedule.

Well...we've been hitting the local mini-golf places...monday we may go into Boston to the Children's Museum...my kids are younger (5 & 9) so going to the playgrounds and pet stores are still good things. Still need to get them both school shoes...we hang out at the pool...and I owe them a trip to Chuck E. Cheese.. We have a few other things going but that's all I can think of. Oh, a few nights in Ogunquit, ME in Aug (lobster, yum!)

Summer was half over for us a month ago!

Michael is back to school after next week. He has his own plans for his last week, mine are DIFFERENT! He wants to relax, I want him to get prepared academically!

I have 3 weeks left. I want to finisih redoing DD#1's room, take the kids to the zoo and Sauder village. The week of Aug. 9 they will all be at VBS from 9-12 and I hope to get some school work done then. I hate going back. It's going to be so hot and miserable.
They, BTW, have 4 weeks left--different schedules--but that last week for them they'll be lucky if I have energy to take them to the pool after I get home.

we haven't done anything really this summer, except sunday picnics at DMIL's pool.

We have a trip to Great Escape planned for 8-25, then we're suppose to go to OOB the 27-30th, but that might change

Right now i'm more worried about finding time to get the kids school shopping done than a vacation! My vacation starts when they go back to school, which here is SEPT 1st!!!

We usually do the majority of our vacations in feb april, and may. i am busiest at work from june - sept, so nothing other than day trips.

We are going to the montshire, and then we always pull the kids out of school the 3rd week for a day in Boston..

Summer is over for me, too. I started back last Wednesday and I'll have first graders starting Monday.

This weekend is our only weekend with absolutely no plans until after labor day!! It is really kinda of a nice feeling.

The kids will go to MIL cottage with her Aug 4 thru Sunday Aug 8 (they are right on Lake Huron & we haven't been there in years). DH and I will drive up on Sat and stay the night.

The weekend of Aug 13....DH and I are going with a group of friends camping/canoeing upnorth here in MI.....first time for an "adult only" trip!!! Kids are staying with my mom and dad.

Saturday Aug 21....KENNY CHESNEY!!!! That is just for me and my good friend. DH's company picnic is that day as well as the Eagles family picnic (I am an Eagle member). I could maybe go to a picnic during the day since the concert isn't until 7:30....but wouldn't be able to pass up the free beer....and that would make for a long day......I want to be coherent for the concert!!!...LOL!!!!

Saturday Aug 28....a couple that we went canoeing with is having this huge party (they have one every other year)....with about 200 people and it is totally themed and I guess they go all out....They live on alot of land out in the "boonies". We have never been to one of their parties since we just met them last year on one of our camping trips....SUPER nice people!!! Kids are coming too...and we may bring our camper along to spend the night.

Then comes Labor day weekend.....we really have no set plans but think we will go to DH's aunts house near the OH border...we spend the 4th of July weekend there (every year) for a week. They live on a private lake with boats, jetskis etc........

August is quite busy for us.....so I think I will take full advantage of this totally "do nothing" weekend!!!!
