We are looking into wedding night accomodations (we will also be staying there an additional night) We are staying at the BW Inn for 8 nights before the wedding and while i know some people feel it is a pain to switch we want to stay at the GF the night of the wedding. Actually While i am getting ready in my mom's villa he is going to bring our stuff over to the gf since our ceremony is not until 5pm.

Anyway I was wondering what rooms you all stayed in. See we really want to garauntee we have a king bed and a castle view would be nice too. I was thinking the honeymoon turret suite since i know for a fact that has a king bed. any other options?

shows you all the different suites at the GF. As for normal rooms i know some have King Rooms not sure if there is a way of guaranteeing one though?

My fiance and I wanted to check out the suites before we decided where to stay. We went to the GF first because we thought it would be the most elegant. The CM took us to a secluded floor with a secret password for the elevator. I thought that was cool. We go into the room and I asked, "IS THIS IT???" I couldn't believe it. It was no better than the CBR with a regular bathroom, nothing fancy, the bed had better sheets but nothing honeymoonish, the room was small, and their was a small balcony. NOTHING SPECIAL. I was floored! I thought there was a mistake but I knew there wasn't one when we walked out and saw a bride carrying her dress down the hall. I'm telling you to check it out first!!!! But I saw nothing great in it. I would try to get another suite bc the Honeymoon ROOMS (as they are really called) are nothing great. :sad2:

There is a regular room, which just has a view of the castle, then there is the "Turret Room". DF and I had the luck of getting one of these rooms (there are only 6 of these in the main building) when we were staying at the GF in July.

The room is huge. Much larger than any other room we have stayed in at the resorts (other than the Garden Suite at the GF, but that was 2 stories... ;) )

I am attaching some pics of that room so you can see it.... :sunny:

Yes thank you Cinderellafan- that is the turret suite! i think that is the one we are going to book...awesome pics.

Laurafoster ***********.com- cool i am going to check it out.

Actually, you are not guaranteed a turret room when you book a Honeymoon Room. They are by request only.

But, here is some :wizard: that you get one!!!

looks like it is called the royal palm club suite on the ***********.com website. The pictures don't do the room justice. It had three balconies and there were several dozen fresh roses in vases in the room. It was amazing. I had my hair and makeup done w/ the balcony door open facing the castle. It is on its own floor with the other suites that can only be accessed from the concierge area.

I will likely never get to stay there again, but it was amazing for the night before the wedding.

The Grand Floridian is the pefect wedding night resort. The turret suites look lovely too!

We had a turret suite for our 1st anniversary (free upgrade - SURPRISE!!!) and it was beautiful!!! It completely spoiled us!

You could get the Victorian Suite, if you want a king bed & guaranteed view of the castle. This suite was amazing. It had a lovely jacuzzi tub, 4 balconies with various views, huge bedroom & separate living room, and another 1/2 bath in the living room. We were very lucky to get this suite one year for our anniversary.

The problem with booking a honeymoon room is that you don't know for sure what type of room you will get, or what your room's view will be, since 3 of the 6 honeymoon turret rooms have non-MK views.

If you want a beautiful room with a guaranteed, beautiful view, I'd recommend the Victorian Suite.

Cheers!
