I have read mixed reviews on this hotel and was wondering if anyone had any advice for us? My family and I are staying there Jan 29 through Feb. 6. Thanks

If its the Days Inn Suites dont do it! Alot of pretty bad reviews and Days Inns in Florida are not the greatest usually..there are so many nicer places to stay

The Comfort Inn Suites right near this is so much better. I think it would be worth the extra $$ to stay there instead!

i stayed at the days inn suites once, it was awful, bugs, just nasty, i would not recommend it at all. You should try skyauction you may get a better deal.

I stayed at the Days Inn Suites at Old Town, and I was glad that I had my German shepherd with me. Sketchy, very sketchy.

Cheers!

When staying off-site, we always stay at the Comfort Suites next to Old Town. It's not a 4 star hotel but is clean, comfortable and for the price you can't beat it. We've never had any concerns regarding safety, and the free breakfast is certainly a plus. We would recommend it. Here's their website - http://www.comfortsuitesfl.com

We stayed there for 10 days at Christmas 2005! There were people partying outside our door. Smoking drugs and banging on doors! Place smelled really bad especially the lobby. Shuttle serivce is horrible and sometimes didn't show up.

Want a really nice place to stay? That is around the same price with buffet breakfast and kids eat free? Book it through Maritime travel for 49.00 a night Canadian.....try best Western Lakeside Kissimmee. Each room has coffee maker, and fridge and there is a microwave you can use to. This place is far superior!

Good Luck,

Charleyann

We stayed at Day's Suites for many years, but then decided that life was too precious to risk it for a vacation.
We are at this moment several miles down the road at a house we rent.
Suites at Old Town is indeed Days Suites with a new name. (Did even Day's get embarassed by this location?) We drove through the property late last night, and the vast, vast majority of the units look empty and unoccupied. The property is not clean, and does not give a feeling of security.

:scared:
Stayed there over a year ago and it scared the devil out of me. Disgusting, sticky wet carpet, bugs everywhere, bad lighting, bad characters all around us...we actually got up at 5 in the morning and left because we didn't sleep all night! Lucky we live close by, if that was more than a one night destination we would have been beyond miserable.

Is the microwave in the room as well? We are looking for a place (not too expensive with a micro and fridge in room)

I've never stayed there. I have though stayed at the Day's Inn right next door. It gets this same reviews and reactions. My impression was it was a budget-no frills kind of place. Not sure about the suites. Now, we haven't stayed there since 2003- but we never thought it was as bad as everyone made it out to be. Our room was clean, modern, and just very basic. However, we also only paid $19.99 a night via an internet special. I'd say proceed w/ caution, maybe even look around, but try to read everything w/ half a heart. :goodvibes

A lot of people mention crime, but they are not backing it up w/ facts. They are also mentioning staying just 2 doors down. Having been in that area many times, 2 doors down is right there as well. We've gone to that area many times. We've used the same common sense we use everywhere and everytime we travel.

I also want to welcome you to the DIS!!!!

IMO NOt a very good area to be in. We go to old town on the weekends from time to time and it has really gotten trashy. A lot of crime in the area and not a great place to stay a lot of locals as well.. I would try LBV area . IMO just not a nice place to stay. International drive area would even be a better place to stay :)

Terrible! Don't do it! I stayed for 5 nights in March '04 and it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It was dirty and the people there were very sketchy! I'm not a very picky person, but I wouldn't wish this hotel on anyone. For about the same price, we stayed at the Buena Vista Suites last year, and it was great.

The microwave is in the lobby outside of deli for everyones use. The fridge is in the room nd holds quite abite. The Best Western Lakeside was just awesome with great amenities and friendly service for a 3 star. Going back this year and staying there again. Can't beat the price.

If you are from Canada book it through Maritime travel. Don't wait too long because with those prices they sell off quick! Maritime Travel also offers a wesite with a 1-800 number which you can also ask about the Best Western Lakeiside.

Need anymore questions asked...just pm me!

Good luck,

Charleyabb

Try the Comfort Suites Maingate East - all their rooms come with microwave and fridge for around $70 night with the Orlando Magicard. We always stay there and find it a great place to stay off site.

Maybe consided Tropical Palms, it is located behind Old Town. I haven't stayed there since 2004 but we enjoyed the privacy, the web site is
www.Topicalpalms.com.

Just by site I would not recommend the Days suites, looks really run down.
