We have 8, 6, almost 3 year old kids. We will be in WDW 12/30-1/3. Originally I planned on Epcot for New Year's Eve, but have come to the realization that the kids will NEVER make it that late (never have made it to NYE at home yet).

Any suggestions on how to spend NYE keeping in mind we will probably have to be back at our Resort by 9:30 or so?

It would be nice if my wife & I could see fireworks from our resort window with the kids in bed. Suggestions on where to stay to make this happen (currently booked aat Coronado, but there are some rooms available at some of the deluxe).

Thanks

My understanding is that Epcot does 2 showings of Illuminations on NYE, one around 9 or 10, and one at midnight. I'm not sure if they still do this, but I heard that they have in the past.

As for getting a room with a fireworks view, the best choice would be one of the MK resorts: Grand Floridian, Polynesian, or Contemporary. However, you are not guaranteed a MK view at both GF & Cont., because some of the lagoon view rooms do not face the MK. At the Poly, pretty much all of the rooms face in the direction of the MK, so you would have a better shot. Also, remember that the price for these rooms on NYE is $$$. But if you can afford it, go for it!

Have a great trip no matter what you decide on!

We seem to think that the Studios has the best New Years' Eve shows. Epcot is way too crowded.
