I need suggestions on where to take my family for meals during our first stay at Disney World. There will be 4 of us, my husband, my 4 yr old daughter and my 1 1/2 year old son. We will be staying on site at ASMo and napping there in the afternoon.

Question #1: How many PS's a day is too many?
Question#2: Which restaurants are my kids most likely to enjoy?
Question #3: How long do character meals take?
Question #4: Better to do ch. meals in am or pm?

My plans:
Day 1 - Epcot; Princess breakfast (PS booked)
Coral Reef??, Garden Grill?? dinner??lunch?? both??
Day 2 - AK; not a clue - maybe eat at the Resort??
Day 3 - MGM - not a clue
Day 4 - MK: Hoping for CRT PS's - if not maybe lunch PS there - if
not, Crystal Palace for brkfst. no clue for lunch or dinner
Day 5 - MK: Crystal Palace if I get into CRT day 4
Chef Mickey's?? brkfst? lunch? dinner?
Day6 - Flex day:1900 Park place? brkfst?lunch?dinner? - Was
originally planning luau for dinner but heard it will be
closed when we are there.

In need of suggestions and opinions.

Thanks!!

we just got back from our first disney trip with 4 yr old son and twins 2 years old boy/girl. had also made several PS but only kept one for chef mickey-breakfast. They all loved it. We did 4 days in disney and by the last day the oldest did not want to see any more characters- he wanted to swim in the pool. We had alot of character interaction in animal kingdom which i liked alot. My kids liked eating at the rainforest cafe- they were not afraid at all and seeing so much kept them happy. We had alot of meals by the pool so not to have to keep them quiet and sitting still for too many meals. By the end of the week, they were tired and not as well behaved as they were in the beginning. We did not do half as much as I planned but will still did alot and had a grat time. Have fun.

My children are the same ages as yours so, here is my addvice on what you should do. We usually found doing 3 sit down restaurants to be TOO MUCH food and TOO MUCH structure for our kids. They are used to eating out, we usually go out to eat 2 times per week, and they got sick of the sitdowns if we did too many. I usually plan 1 - 2 sitdowns a day, doing breakfast and dinner or just lunch. After all that food, all we usually need if we do 2 PS"s is a quick bite to holdus until our dinner ressies. If we want to eat at a restaurant for lunch, we usually do a quick breakfast and dinner. I usually only eat at character breakfasts, and since they are all you can eat, we're usually not very hungry by lunch. My kids usually like the character meals, but we've taken them to most of the restaurants in the World, including Narcoossee's, Artist Point and Flying Fish to name a few and they LOVED THEM!! To answer your question about a character meal, usually allow an hour for the characters to make their rounds to your table. I personally prefer the breakfast character meals, with the exception of Chef Mickey's it's the only character dinner I like. Good luck with your planning, I'd recommend Hollywood and Vine for a character lunch at MGM or 50's Primetime Cafe for a GREAT lunch!!!
