I am working on planning my Christmas trip (27th-Jan 2nd) and there are 2 days I need to make dinner plans while at the Magic Kingdom. Any suggestions :confused3 on where to eat in or near the Magic Kingdom? We will be using the dining plan, though it looks like most of the places in or near MK are on the plan. It will be myself and a friend/co-worker. Let me know what 's your fav.

Thanks for your help! :wave2:

(I'm so excited! This is the first time I have started a thread! :cool1:

There are a few places at MK that are goor, but try Liberty Tree Tavern. It's a charater dinner, with Goofy and the dinner features a Thanksgiving type meal. It's one TS on DDP and is a lot of fun and is right in the heart of MK near the Hall of Presidents. Enjoy.

It depends what type of dining experience you are looking for...

we like 'Ohanas at the Poly (just a short monorail ride away)

all 3 resorts on the monorail loop have great Restaurants...

Narcoossees at the GF

The California Grill at the Contemporary

if you want to stay in the park the CRT inside the Castle would be a good choice

if you like character buffets

there's the Crystal Palace in MK with Pooh & Friends

or

1900 Park Fare at the GF with Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Fairy Godmother & the mice

You should check out the menus...there are several sites where you can do this...I usually use the menus on www.allearsnet.com just go to dining & them menus.

Have fun!

I'd recommend Kona at the Poly. It's just a short monorail or boat ride away from the MK.

I vote for Kona Cafe!

Loved it there. For appetizers we liked the Crab Cakes, Pot Stickers and Stickey Wings. For the entrees we enjoyed the Char Crusted Medallions of Filet Mignon, Slow Roasted Prime Rib, and the Beef Teriyaki. All of their desserts were very mouth watering especially the Caramel-Banana Creme Brulee, the chocolate volcano cake, and the Kiddie Kone. We liked it there so much we ate there twice on our last trip (actually 3 times if you count breakfast).

I loved the grilled shrimp and scallops with sticky rice. The creme brulee was the best I had all trip.

On our MK days we are eating at Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, 1900 Park Fare at the Grand FLoridian and Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. (We have 4 kids- 8,7, and 3 yo twins who love character meals!) We have also enjoyed CRT in the past.

WCC was fun, barBq type food. The food was good, and if you get a funny server, it makes the meal even more enjoyable.

I think the key word here is "near".

Although Plaza is a perfect good sandwich shop, sort of a laid-back version of Beaches and Cream with the somewhat inflated prices you would expect in MK. Crystal Palace is a nice buffet but you do pay for the characters. I've heard Liberty Tree lunch is quite good, and the dinner is a fun experience but the food is mass-produced and it shows.

My vote is for Kona Cafe. Reasonable prices and great food. Never been disappointed there. Even a simple vegetable-rice bowl was wonderful.
