Im a newbie to the dining board !

I need some help!

May 28th, I have the Fantamic dinner package booked for 5:20 at Hollywood &Vine. I'm planning on cancelling, and just going to Fantasmic at the later showing.

But we (DBF & I) still needa eat!

I'm flexible to any resturant in the DHS area (AK, Epcot, Boardwalk included) just so we can get back for EMH and Fantasmic and I don't mind CS as long as it has a meal and not just snacks.

EDIT: I'm really want to eat at CRT but the price is something I'mnot really liking (we'd be three for Holiday rates) It sounds wonderful atmosphere wise, but i looked at the menu and it wasnt anythignspectacular, please tell me it's not worth it and convince me I dont need to go, or if it is, really sellit to me because ive heard great reviews but for a superbudget trip, it doesn't seem like it would work for DBF and I, helppppp!

The Dine In theater with the cars? I looked at that and it seems wicked cute, and I love the whole idea of hamburgers and shakes! Ill keep that on the list because it's indeed close and sounds so good! Thanks for your suggestion, I didn't even remember that was close!

Why are you thinking of cancelling? Is dinner too early? We had a 5ish ADR for this meal too and I had concerns. We enjoyed the meal and it was nice to sort of wander DHS before Fantasmic. I was surprised (and disappointed) to find that a lot of DHS rolls up by 6pm...Characters are gone, Beauty and the Beast performances are over, no more HS Musical parades/performances, etc. Try to be sure the things you want to see at DHS are actually available then. I was none too happy to discover that and my 6yo nephew was devastated the he couldn't get to see Lightning McQueen ("the best race car ever"). We were able to make it up by returning the next morning before heading home.

The meal at H&V was good and with any buffet you can just keep on eating. We were there on a really hot day and were able to take our dessert (made orange floats) with us in a paper cup; oh that was good.

Good luck with your decision and planning. H&V was the only DHS place where we ate. Nephew had an Itakadoozie from one of the carts there for breakfast on our final day. (Hey I'm the auntie, I'm supposed to provide those treats every now and then).

Sci Fi is cute! The food is ok and a bit over-priced but the theme is definately fun.
Actually, my favorite restaurant at HS is Mama Melrose. We've never had a bad meal there!!

We're cancelling because we're on a super budget and woulkd rather see the later seating of F!. The budget thing is we'd rather goto a CS and spend less than the buffet per person but I'm not completely sold on cancelling it yet.

Well certainly a good idea to do your research and see your options.

Sorry I can't give first hand CS suggestions, but many can help you.

None of the CS's are very good at HS--we avoid them all. You'd be better going over to the Boardwalk or one of the resorts. I don't remember the prices on Sci-Fi even though it is a table service. But in our opinion, it is much better than H&V which we do not like at all.

I like Backlot Express for CS at HS. It's nothing fancy, but consistently good IMO. I ate at Hollywood and Vine last August and wasn't too impressed, so if you're on a budget I would cancel. If you definitely still want TS, there is ESPN Club which is not too far of a walk and not so expensive. Same with Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. Both I found to be very yummy!
