Suggestions for Using Points in Europe?

We're a military family, stationed in Germany, arrived this past summer. We have always used our points at either WDW or DL. We only own 170 points, and that's worked great for us, going about every two years or so. We currently have 300 points to work with, and we can borrow into next year. This is a three-year assignment; we have no plans to go back to the States as there's so much to see and do over here. I've looked into using them for the Med Cruise, but man, that's pricey point wise. I'm a veranda girl, and we have no where near enough for that. I'm considering renting them out and paying for the cruise in cash (with the hope that they offer a FL Resident or military fare). I dunno though. The whole renting out thing seems like a big hassle.

I know we'll get to the park in Paris, but it's not at the top of my list.

Just fishing for ideas. :confused3

YOU WILL ALWAYS PAY ALMOST DOUBLE FOR USING YOU POINTS AWAY FROM DISNEY.
I WOULD ALWAYS USE CASH:headache:

Try posting your question over on the UK DVC Discussion Board. The members that post there are more likely to have some helpful suggestions for you than us "yanks", LOL. I'll leave the original here, because some on this board may have something to offer as well.

Today's is Veteran's Day - on behalf of all us here on the DVC Boards, thank you for your service and the sacrifices your family makes to support you.

there aer a number of club cordial places that you can use DVC points. These include Vienna, Innsbruck, and several other locations in central Europe.

Carol, thank for the nice comment about my husbands/our family's service. He's just back from a nice Veteran's Day Ceremony here in Berlin. And your idea about the UK DVC board is a good one.

I've been on the web a lot since posting this, and pmcpmc is absolutely correct, trading out is not a good use of points. I'm getting ready to call member services and see what they might suggest. The DCL Med cruise looks really sweet.

It's looking as if renting the points out and using the money for something else would be the most bang for our buck. Just a little leery about taking that one on.
