Suggestions for non-destructible dog toys

We have three large dogs - two in particular that are very hard on toys. One loves soft squeeky toys but they don't last the day. It's a shame since he loves the sound in them so much. The other is a puppy and he is horribly hard on toys.

We have a kong - xl size. The opening is huge and it takes a mini meal of dog cookies to stuff and pack it tight enough so that everything doesn't fall out right away. What else can I put in it so that they can use it in the house?

We have a kong bone - had the one with the rope through it. The rope lasted all of about one hour. We still have the bone - that's intact.

What can I get them so that they are occupied in the house?
Any suggestions are appreciated!

I suggest Orbee toys. They come in levels of durability. We have a local store that we even replace the toys at no cost if you dog destroys them.

Re: Kongs....I put some peanut butter in it plus a little kibble and then freeze it, and it lasts longer (or you can just use the pb plus treats too). You could put yogurt in there or soft cheese. They make some kind of squirt stuff to put in kongs made by the same company that you can buy in pet stores.

Re: tougher toys...I have a brand, I think they're called tough-eez or something like that. I'll look it up and get back to you. They're virtually non-destructible (I have a lab...)

Edited to add....I checked online, and have seen them spelled both "Tuffy's" and "Tuffie's". I believe they are sold and Petco- we have little independent pet stores here and they all sell the brand.

I usually pack the dogs' kongs with peanut butter and freeze it.

What I wish I could find is a non-destructible stuffed toy. They both prefer stuffed toys and would carry them around 24/7 if they didn't destroy them so quickly.

I have a destructible dog too!! Some kongs mine was able to tear apart. All the orbee stuff she has torn up.

You know what she loves the most? Sock
So I throw her a new pair every now and then of my socks! and it save money

My oldest dog wants just soft, squeaky toys but then he tears them apart within a day or two. Slippers, socks, and rope-like toys - that's what my youngest dog wants. Ropes he can shred in just a day or two as well.

The pet stores seem to cater to toys that only little dogs can use. I look at the rows of toys and there seems to be nothing that can withstand a bigger dog.

My golden had to have surgery, twice, because he swallowed a sock...whole and in tact.

He is a very tough chewer. He rips up the ropes, chews the bones hard, and loves to chomp on anything plastic. He is costing us a fortune in toys...but he is the sweetest thing.

those infomercial crazy critter have lasted pretty good for our lab. he did manage to get the face off of the raccoon, but the body and tail squeaker are still intact. It has been about 5 months, so to me.... worth the money. he loves little rocky raccoon!

We buy the Nylabones for Powerful Chewers. Never had a problem with them. After they chew the ends off you replace it with a fresh bone.

I second freezing kongs. Just put a few treats inside and plug the ends with peanut butter, low fat cream cheese and/or a banana and freeze.

We also use bully sticks in different lengths for different sized dogs. Someone else can explain what they are.

My beagle is literally a weapon of mass destruction!!!! I just bought him a toy with 16 squeakers and he has already removed 3 of them and it has been less than 10 min!!! I usually just get him stuffing free squeak toys that way when when he tears them to pieces I at least do not get stuffing all over my house. The one squeak toy that has lasted us the longest is called a kong wubba and he has had it for about 5 months (although he seems to like it less than his other easily destructible toys as I think that he loves that ripping noise). Good luck! it is amazing what destruction my little guy can accomplish.

I did this for Kongs, but my dog destroys them, too. She destroys the toys that are indestructible in about 5 minutes. They do make a toy that's a tire, that lasts about a month, but that's it-I haven't been able to find anything that she can't destroy.

I also recommend the bully sticks, but I take them away from her when they get small.

Funny story for those who know WHAT they are. DD has a habit of tasting dog treats-the ones that you get from the bin at the pet store that look like real cookies. She had a bully stick in her hand, and said, "I wonder what these taste like?" joking. I told her to go google "bully stick" before she put it in her mouth.

She refuses to even touch them now.
