Suggestions for July 4th?

Ah, the best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men... sigh.

We've had a wonderful addition to our 4th of July plans with the mouse - i.e. an extended family member (who we've always hoped would join us some time) has agreed to come along for the fun. We'll have a BLAST together, but sadly, you can't just "add one" to a 4th of July desert party, or a BOG ADR.

I'm all ears if anyone has any fun suggestions ;-) Should we just pack bologna sandwiches and cancel all our ADRs? What would you do? For now, I'll just keep checking all the interesting fireworks related restaurants for openings.

I can only imagine how unbelievable the crowds will be on the 4th!! I voted for a dessert party cancellation, but I love fireworks. Plus if the park is nuts, it would be the best perk to have a reserved spot for them.

I think you just need to keep checking all of your options, every day, and go with ANYTHING that opens up to accommodate your addition. If nothing does, go to the park of choice and just enjoy the magic.

If it only 1 additional guest, I suggest checking at the podium at BOG to see if they can accommodate your request.

Last year, I had made reservations before my mom decided to join us and try as I might, I could never secure an ADR for one more before we left.

I inquired they day we had lunch if this was something they may be able to help with and was told to check at the podium when doing check in. They were able to find us a table for 5 no problem.

This was during our 4th of July trip, but not on the 4th itself. However, at Rose & Crown one year on the actual 4th, they were able to consolidate the ADRs that were booked separately for us and my in-laws even though they were at different times.

No guarantee but wanted you to know our experience. I know this wouldn't be possible with the dessert experiences but the table service is a possibility.

There's no place quite as amazing as MK on July 4th! Enjoy...whether or not you have reservations anywhere!

Thanks for the tips... I'll keep trying for BOG, but if it doesn't work out I'm not bothered.

We like to park hop and we usually leave by 11 to avoid the heat. So I wasn't looking forward to spending an entire summer day inside MK during a phase 4 closure.

We're staying at BCV, so plan B is still awesome: swimming, dinner at 50's Prime Time, then Mulch Sweat and Sheers with fireworks by the hat!
