Suggestions for February 2015?

I am attempting to plan a trip to DL for Feb 2015 traveling Weds. - Sun. to spend Weds. Thurs, Fri and Sat at DL. I wanted to go the 18th - 22nd (3rd week in Feb.) but realize now that's Presidents Day week. Because the 3 day weekend is really part of the previous week and Valentines Day is also part of the previous weekend I don't want to switch to that but I'm worried about Mid-Winter break; is Presidents Day week usually busy? Should I push it back one week to Feb 25th to the 28th (4th week of Feb.).

I don't actually think that Valentine's Day will really make a huge impact on the surrounding days. President's Day, being part of the three-day weekend, means that the parks will be busier than normal during those three days. I think fewer and fewer schools are getting a week off around President's Day (they will get the day off). There will probably some slight up tick in crowds that week, but I don't think it's going to be holiday season busy. Still, the last week in February doesn't appear to have anything major at this point (not Dapper Days, no marathons, etc.), so that is probably the "safer" bet in terms of crowds.

There are various crowd calendars, but most of the advice on the Disboard is not to put too much stock in any of them. The most common ones you hear about are Touring Plans and IsItPacked. I'd take all of their information with a grain of salt.

I went during President's Week this year and it was busy but that's because the weekend after President's Day weekend was Dapper Days so a lot of people for that showed up during the week before the event's weekend. This year Dapper Days is March 1st so you will probably run into those crowds if you push back later in the month. I think the crowd calendars won't be able to predict those crowds because you can get some amazing rates with Dapper Days so most people go then to get the discount. I debated on going then to get the discount too, but decided going President's Day week might be calmer then this year, without the Dapper Day visitors.

We chose early February because I figured it would be the lowest February crowds.

From what I can tell, the hotel discounts are good between Feb. 22 and March 7 with dapper day itself being March 1. We are planning to take advantage of these discounts. Would before or after dapper day be quieter? Anyone know?

After originally posting this I did google crowd trackers and found that historically that week is busy so I suggested to my husband we go first week or Feb or Mar instead; though those are both inconvenient for our family and in March room rates go up so it would cost us more. I'm glad to hear that the reason it is normally busy is dapper days and that is scheduled differently this year. I think I might stick with those days then Thank you all!
